🤎 A Little Update from The Village Sourdough Girl 🤎

If you’ve been wondering what happened to the Football Kickoff Giveaway… well… this first-time cheer mom completely fumbled the ball. 🏈😅

When I planned the giveaway, I didn’t realize just how quickly life was about to change.

For those who may not know, we’re a military family, and my husband is also in law enforcement. Between those two careers, our time together has always been precious. It has just recently sunk in for all of us—especially our kids—that after he returns from annual training, we’ll only have about four weeks together before he deploys for a year.

Add in the start of school, our very first cheer season (which has been SO much more of a commitment than I ever imagined!), therapy appointments for our autistic son , and trying to soak up every possible moment together as a family… and somewhere in the middle of it all, I dropped the ball.

That’s on me.

So… to thank everyone for your patience, I’ve decided that instead of choosing one winner, I’m choosing THREE! 🎉

Each winner will receive a Village Breakfast Box, filled with some of my family’s favorite homemade goodies. I’ll be drawing the winners this evening, so keep an eye on the page!

🤎 One more update…

After a lot of thought, I’ve decided to make a small change for this season of life.

Moving forward, The Village Sourdough Girl will be offering preorders only for a while.

Each week I’ll continue sharing a menu with everything I’ll be baking, and you’ll be able to place your orders just like always. This change simply allows me to continue doing something I truly love while also being fully present for my family during a season that I know we’ll never get back.

Thank you for every order, every share, every kind word, and every bit of encouragement you’ve given me. This little business has become something so special because of all of you, and I’m incredibly grateful.

Here’s to slowing down just enough to enjoy what matters most… and I’ll still be baking for you along the way. 🤎🍞

One of my absolute favorite parts of this journey has been meeting all of you. And can I just say… I officially have regular customers! 🥹♥️

Real, actual regulars. (Insert the woo girl “WOO”!!!)

That honestly means more to me than you know. Thank you for supporting my family-run stand week after week. It truly never gets old seeing familiar faces pull into the driveway.

🤍 An Update from This Weekend’s Fundraiser 🤍

This past weekend, our community showed up in such a beautiful way.

Because of the incredible support from our community this past weekend, $150 was donated (plus the processing fees for a total of $156.88) to Isaiah 117 House – Montgomery County in memory of Ezra Tirey.

The community as a whole has really showed up for the Tirey’s. After talking with Sarah, it was decided that Isaiah 117 House was the most meaningful place to honor Ezra’s memory.

Sarah and Steve’s family was built through fostering and adoption, and Sarah and I actually met years ago while becoming certified foster parents through Montgomery County. Because of those shared experiences, we both understand how important organizations like Isaiah 117 House are for children entering foster care.

Isaiah 117 House Montgomery Co OH provides a safe, welcoming home where children can stay during those first difficult hours after being removed from their homes. Instead of waiting in a caseworker’s office, children receive clean clothes, a warm meal, toys, comfort, and compassionate care while their next placement is arranged.

Sarah shared that this mission was especially close to Ezra’s heart. He remembered what it felt like to sit and wait with uncertainty, and he loved knowing that children in Montgomery County would have a safe and comforting place during one of the hardest days of their lives.

To every person who purchased bread, cookies, granola, or simply shared the fundraiser and prayed for the Tirey family—thank you. Your generosity will continue to make a difference for children in our community while honoring Ezra’s legacy in a way that was deeply meaningful to his family.

Thank you for helping turn your kindness into hope for others. ❤️
