Pound cake is now an official Mjomii menu item! It is completely gluten free like all of our other desserts and beverages and is sold at $4.50/slice.

Our current and first ever pound cake flavor, Earl grey, will be around for a month or two before we transition to a new flavor (TBD). Its base ingredients are almond flour and rice flour and it is flavored with finely ground earl grey tea leaves and fresh lemon zest. It makes a particularly wonderful accompaniment to a good cup of coffee or tea.

We scaled up the recipe significantly during the soft release phase so we will have a good stock each day we are open. There is still a chance of selling out, however, so we recommend coming earlier in the day if you are hoping to try it.

We have a few things to announce now that we’re back from break! The e-newsletter we sent earlier today seems to have been auto sorted into spam for most recipients, so we’ve included it as part of this post. Please swipe through the slides above for the full newsletter.

If you do not have time to read it, the gist is that as we steadily grow busier at the shop, we have to make a few changes to ensure that our quality stays high and our team stays healthy and productive. We plan to stay a tiny business just like we are now and focus on providing the best products and customer service we can.

The updates are:

1) Adjusted hours - we are now closing 1/2 an hour earlier each day starting tomorrow.

New hours are:
Friday 9:30 - 5:30
Saturday 9:30 - 5:30
Sunday 9:30 - 4:30

We know our limited hours can be frustrating and sincerely apologize. Please understand that, although we only open 3 days a week, our core team currently works 6-7 days a week, 60-80 hours a week.

2) 5” Ispahan cakes are now preorder only. Please visit our website to order at least 3 days ahead or email us if you need one sooner and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

3) Shipping may not be available at all this season. As much as we want to ship our macarons as we have in past years, because of increased demand at the storefront, all of our time and resources have to go toward baking and roasting for the shop.
We hope to find a way to ship once or twice this season, but even if we can, it probably won’t be until early 2026. We are so sorry about this. We will be sure to keep you posted.

With the help of these changes, we hope to bring you new menu items, perhaps some unique events, and a happier, healthier, and more energetic team. Thank you for sticking with us.

Cream soda (クリームソーダ) joins our beverage menu today! A balance of tangy, creamy, and sweet, it is a sibling to our Melon soda and is inspired by the classic blue cream sodas found in cafés in Japan. Its most prominent flavor notes are citrus and yogurt. If you have ever tried Milkis, Calpico, or Ambasa, this soda may remind you a bit of those!

Like our Melon soda, there are two versions available - Classic (pictured - $5.75) and Plain (no whipped cream, just soda + cherry garnish - $5.25). Allergen note: even the plain version contains dairy.

Introducing the Green apple macaron! A delicate flavor with just a touch of tartness, fans of our Yuzu macaron should particularly enjoy this one. Green apple macarons will be around this week and next so you can include them in your Mother’s Day boxes!

Our first limited, seasonal beverage ever is the Sakura Lemon Squash (桜レモンスカッシュ). Flavored with a house made syrup made with real powdered cherry blossoms and freshly squeezed lemons, it is lightly sparkling, delicate, and refreshing. Available starting today!($5)

Ingredients for this beverage are limited, so it will likely not be around for more than a couple of weeks.

Introducing Melon Soda (メロンソーダ) - a refreshing honeydew-flavored soda topped with lightly sweetened whipped cream and garnished with a cherry. There are two versions available - Classic (pictured - $5.25) and Plain (no whipped cream, just soda + cherry garnish - $4.75).

This is our second kissaten inspired menu item after our coffee jelly. Chef Calvin has always wanted to add this classic Japanese drink to our menu and it took him over a year to perfect the recipe. We highly recommend giving it a try!

We are a participating vendor for this year’s Greater Columbus Cherry Blossom Festival’s passport! If you bring in your passport any time before April 25th and purchase a Cherry blossom macaron we will stamp it with our logo. The participant who collects the most stamps from festival’s vendors and events wins a prize!

A quick update on shipping. We had hoped to send one final shipment this month but regrettably will not be able to. 😿 We’ve had a lot of things come up that have made this month extra busy to the point that we simply do not have the time to prepare another shipment. We are so sorry to everyone who was holding out hope for one last shipment this season. Shipping will resume after we return from our annual Fall break in November.

Introducing Ssook (Mugwort/쑥/蓬) macarons for the Lunar New Year! Ssook (or Yomogi in Japanese) is an East Asian herb that is known for its use in flavoring and imparting a deep green color to ddeok (rice cakes). Its flavor is herbal with a pleasant minty note.

Ssook macarons will be here all weekend and on our **EXTRA OPEN DAY** on Monday. On MLK Day, this Monday (1/20), we will be open 10am - 5pm.

This month’s macaron shipment features all of our Asian flavors in celebration of the upcoming Lunar New Year! We are also including Passion fruit, which many of customers have been wanting to try.

We will release this shipment to order on our website tomorrow, Saturday 1/18, at 10am EST. After the release, please visit our homepage and click “shop now” on the shipping section to order. As always, shipments are limited so ordering early is recommended.

Our current rotating macaron flavors at the shop are Ssook (mugwort), Injeolmi (soy), and Cherry blossom. We will have these flavors at least until Sunday but may change up the Injeolmi/Cherry blossom with different Asian rotating flavors on Monday.

We also released a new beverage today - the hot Hōjicha latte! Made with a roasted green tea powder imported directly from Japan, it is toasty and comforting and can be sweetened to your preference. An iced version is coming soon!

Happy New Year! Thank you so much for a busy, joyous holiday season and for making 2024 the best year Mjomii has ever had in all regards.

This week (1/3 - 1/5), we are open as usual. Next week, we will be taking the week off (1/10 - 1/12) to recuperate and regroup before we gear up for the Lunar New Year and Valentine’s Day.

To make up for the closure, we are opening an extra day the following week on MLK Day (Monday, January 20th)! We hope many of you who have a hard time coming during our regular hours will be able to visit us then!

Coffee jelly has joined our dessert lineup starting today! This addition, the first ever from our official coffee brand , is our take on an iconic dessert that has been a staple at traditional Japanese coffee shops since the early 1900s.

A generous layer of bittersweet coffee jelly is balanced by its sweet cream topping and garnished with a coffee bean. We use our house roasted dark house blend for a rich and satisfying coffee flavor. This is the same blend we used for our popular coffee beverages, the Einspänner, Crème au lait, and Milk coffee.

Dine-in customers’ coffee jellies will be served in elegant coupe glasses and the to-go jellies will be displayed in the case next to our macarons. Each jelly is $6 and is made with beef gelatin. Please be aware that a limited amount of coffee jelly is available each day and we may sell out by the end of the day. We will update our stories letting you know if we sell out each day this week.
