May was a whirlwind... and honestly, I think I blinked once.
Between graduations, teacher appreciation gifts, end-of-school celebrations, and all of life's sweet moments in between, this little cookie business was BUSY. While my social media may have looked a little quiet, I promise my kitchen was anything but. I spent the month covered in royal icing, answering messages at odd hours, and wondering if sleep was really that necessary.
To every person who placed an order, shared a post, recommended me to a friend, or trusted me to be a small part of your celebration… thank you. This business wouldn't be what it is without you. Every order represents a milestone, a memory, or someone you care about, and it means so much that you choose me to help make those moments a little sweeter.
May also taught me a lot. Some lessons were about cookies, some were about business, and some were simply learning how to better prepare for the wonderfully chaotic seasons that come with owning a small business.
As June begins, I'm intentionally shifting into a slower pace. My husband and I will be celebrating our 9th wedding anniversary, we will be heading to Lake of the Ozarks for my cousin's bachelorette party, spending time with friends and family back home, and joining my husband in Michigan as we attend a memorial for someone he served alongside.
As someone who has a hard time turning "work mode" off, I'm making it a goal to be fully present for these moments.
What does that mean for you? A few slower message responses, some throwback cookie photos and videos making a comeback, and me occasionally disappearing from social media while I'm busy making memories instead of content.
Don't worry! I'm still here, still baking, and still dreaming up future cookie designs. (And no, I refuse to believe it's too early to start planning Christmas cookies.)
Thank you for supporting this little business, cheering me on, and making May one for the books. I'm incredibly proud of how far Sweet Summit has come, and even more excited for what's ahead. ❤️
