Today was full of rest and spending time with my family, but in true Em fashion, I needed dessert. I did not bake one thing today for my business and it was so nice to just rest with my husband and boys, but we needed a sweet treat to end the day.

I was craaaaving a Twix bar after our homemade onion rings and chicken nuggets for dinner but I did not have a Twix and didnā€™t want to go to the store. So I made my own version. šŸ¤£

These are SO yummy!! Homemade gluten free cookie crust with my signature sugar cookie dough, homemade caramel center, creamy chocolate ganache and topped with sea salt. Ohhhh man. I MAY just have to put some up for sale tomorrow. šŸ¤­

Good morning everyone,

Unfortunately today I will not be able to attend the Grace in Pink event at Crossroads Commons at 174. Carmen has put her heart, soul, and prayer into this event and I KNOW she has so much fun in store.

Please, please, PLEASE go out and support her beautiful heart and connect and fellowship with other women. There are so many wonderful small businesses there and so much to do!

Even though I cannot attend, I will still post my gift box drawings this week - one Sunday and one more next Sunday. So there will be two opportunities for a wonderful follower and supporter to receive a gift from my business!

I will also have baked goods stocked in my stand tomorrow on Lilly Street and 75% of the proceeds will STILL go to the breast cancer foundation.

Even though I cannot make today, I am still praying blessings upon those who go and spend time together to connect at Carmenā€™s event!

Just in case you feel guilty eating sweets from home or from cottage bakeries, hereā€™s a good reminder that our calorie count is far under the typical franchise count. šŸ¤­

So eat 2 or 3 and get the same calories for 1 or just eat 1 and get the same calories as 2 or 3. Why wouldnā€™t you do that??

*this is not my picture. It is a reference from another big cottage bakery I follow. My recipe is not the same as theirs but I use organic products and fresh cane sugar with my ingredients!

Sometimes I wish I could open a bakery or a play cafe or something bigger so my kids will always be proud of me and see what their mama accomplished, but then I sit back and watch them play and think ā€œyou made it.ā€ They already are proud of me - even on my worst days. I would not change a thing in my life with the way they are. I love watching them play, grow, love each other, learn, and love Jesus.

If I remember nothing else, Iā€™ll remember this. I made it as their mama and they love me so much and show it in so many ways - orchestrated by God our Creator, and I am grateful for this wonderful life Iā€™ve been gifted. Baking, raising babies, being a wife, being a friend, and being a follower of Christ.
