I’ve shared a lot of cookies, cinnamon rolls, market days and kitchen chaos on this page, but with so many new faces here lately, I thought I’d share a little bit about the person behind Rooted by Faye. 💚🌻
Hi, I’m Amanda! 👋 I’m a wife, mom of three, kidney donor, and the one behind all the baking, packaging, picture taking, posting…and usually the giant mess in my kitchen. 😂
This year has been a pretty big one for our family. In March, I donated a kidney to my husband, Shaun, and five months later, he is doing great. ❤️ Going through everything we did really changed my perspective on life and reminded me just how important it is to make the most of the time we’re given.
A few months later, I took another big leap and left my job to spend more time doing something I genuinely love—baking.
And that’s where this little dream comes in. 🌻
Rooted by Faye is named after my Grandma Faye, and having her name be a part of something I’m building makes it even more special to me.
One of my favorite parts of baking is that it connects me to the women who came before me. Along with creating and trying new recipes, I’m lucky enough to have recipes passed down from my grandma and my mom. There’s something extra special about pulling out one of those recipes and making something that has been made and loved by my family for years. 🤍
When I’m not in the kitchen, I’m usually with the people you see in these pictures. ❤️ Ayla is about to turn 20 and start her second year of college, Tristen is starting his junior year of high school, and Gunnar is heading into 4th grade. They are also my built-in taste testers, whether they asked for the job or not. 😂
I’m still learning as I go—trying new recipes, bringing old family recipes back to life, dreaming up new flavors, staying up way too late before markets.😂
So if you’re new here, welcome to Rooted by Faye! I’m so glad you’re here, and I can’t wait to see where this little dream takes me next. 🌻
