We had an amazing time hosting CCM Alumni Sarah Singer and Caleb Robinson. They presented on Networking and future career paths. We had the honor of hosting Scott Rush at CCM! Students in our Band Literature and Senior Seminar courses had the opportunity to discuss various topics ranging from targeting fundamentals in rehearsal, teaching other non-musical skills, and communication from the podium. We enjoyed working and learning with him.

Scott Rush is the team lead for the Habits series by GIA Publications and is the former Director of Bands at Wando High School in Mount Pleasant, SC. He is a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, and the University of South Carolina. He currently serves as co-conductor of the Charleston Wind Symphony, a semi-professional ensemble in Charleston, South Carolina.

First week of the summer masters is almost under wraps. Lots of learning, musicking, inquiry, collaboration, and connection! New flexible structure includes 2 weeks of intensive musicianship studies (in person) and 3 weeks of pedagogy (hybrid), over 5 weeks of hybrid foundational coursework. The Division of Music Education at CCM welcomed Dr. Herbert Marshall, Associate Professor of Music Education at Kent State University, for a day of amazing sessions with our students!

Dr. Marshall led presentations on Directing for Musical Theatre and Music Learning Theory, offering valuable and practical strategies for future music educators. Thanks to Dr. Marshall for sharing his expertise!
