3 sourdough stretch and fold tips ✨ here I’m working on 3 loaf worth of dough, 100% hydration, and this is my first set of stretch and fold.

1. Wet your hands first
Dough sticks to dry hands and tears when you pull it. Dipping your hands and water gives you a smooth stretch without adding flour.

2. Stretch gently until you feel resistance, then fold
Grab one side then lift until dough resists, fold it over. No need to pull hard. You can also rotate the bowl if it helps.

3. Space your sets out, let the dough rest in between
Perform 3-4 sets (30 minutes apart). The dough builds strength and becomes smoother through each set.

Feed my sourdough starter with me, and no my starter doesn’t have a name (yet) 🙂✨

Here I used 1:1:1 of starter flour water ratio for an overnight feeding on my kitchen counter.
