Unfortunately, because of the lack of available customer parking today, we will be closed tomorrow, Sunday, May 31.
We love supporting community events but we need people to understand the impact that parking in designated customer spaces has on small businesses like ours.
The parking lot at Market Square is not public parking. Those spaces are paid for by the small businesses that rent in the building, including Shanks Bakery & Boba, .atg , & . The city does not provide parking for our businesses—we pay for those spots ourselves so our customers have somewhere to park.
Today, many of those spaces were occupied by people attending nearby events, leaving our customers with nowhere to park. The result was devastating to our sales.
When a customer can’t find a place to park, they often turn around and leave. For a large corporation, that may not matter much. For a small business, it absolutely does. It affects our ability to pay bills, pay employees, and keep our doors open.
Please pay attention to parking signs and use public parking when attending events. If a sign says a space is reserved for customers of specific businesses, those spots are there for a reason.
Small businesses work incredibly hard to serve this community. We appreciate your support, and we hope you’ll help us by respecting the parking spaces that keep our businesses running.
