An extraordinary experience to be part of the first culinary event at the Obama Presidential Center, in partnership with Chicago Chefs Cook, and to share our Thandai Shortbread with guests that evening.

Being in this remarkable space, hearing the personal histories of the panelists, and reflecting on Black history in America was deeply moving. It brought a renewed sense of awe and respect for the people whose courage, leadership, creativity, and perseverance have played such a significant role in shaping this country and the culture we share today.

Grateful to have been present for a moment that brought together food, history, community, and legacy in a place built to carry those stories forward.

An honor we won’t soon forget.

This past week, I had the pleasure of serving guests at the James Beard Media Awards reception in a room full of people who live and breathe food.

We made Desi velour — cardamom mousse, carrot-cashew halwa, saffron rice crumble. Our signature item that combines the three cultures( Indian, French, American) that shaped my culinary journey.

To be included alongside such remarkable bakeries is deeply meaningful to us. These are artisans we have long admired for their craft, creativity, and for the standard they continue to set for French baking in America. It is a language we speak in our own kitchen each day.
