I don't know about you, but I've been getting quite enough of an Air + Water show from Mother Nature herself this season. We're about to surpass the national record for tornados, and the rainfall and high winds are destroying trees, basements and any illusions we had about global climate change not being at our literal doorsteps. I'll say it again--f**k bombastic shows of militarism. I don't care about fighter jets and military aircraft. I care about empire stopping its endless crusades. I care about making sure people have affordable places to sleep. (Have you thought about what it must be like to be unhoused especially during a tornado warning?) I care about us having clean drinking water and not draining the Great Lakes for AI data centers.

When will the showmanship stop and the real community work for the goddamn people begin?

I have no clue, frankly, because I just run a restaurant. However, it's a damn fine resto if I do say so myself--and it's run by the loveliest crew who are all genuinely interested in making this world a better place to be.

This morning I mostly wanted to say hi, check in, and let you know that if you're increasingly discombobulated (or you know, rageful) as things fall apart--you're not alone. (Any sense of normalcy I felt went out the window about 13 months ago and seems to have bought a one-way ticket to anywhere else.)

We love you, we've got you, and we've got brunch for little ole weird and fabulous you. Now come get some food in that belly and drink a cold brew looking cute in good company. We can't fuel the revolution on any empty stomach.

RIP WALK IN COOLER 🪦💀

We will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, due to the compressor in our cooler dying in the middle of the night. Unfortunately, we lost a lot of food, but it could always be worse!! We will be back open Thursday with a limited menu if all goes to plan with repairing the walk-in today.
