Weekly Happenings at Cake Bloom!

Hi cake lovers,

It's been a *very* busy month over here with weddings, Mother's Day and Graduation cakes galore, and we're looking forward to slowing down this summer to reset and reconnect with dear ones.

And we hope you'll do the same, preferably over cake and tea, or at one of our upcoming workshops. (New offerings coming soon...)

Until then, we have plenty of activities, treats and tastings every week for you to join us for a solo moment of joy or with your crew.

And for our lunchtime crowd, our famous jumbo popovers, grilled popover sandwiches, and mac'n'cheese are available every week.

WHERE TO PARK?

Parking can be lean during peak lunchtime hours, roughly 11 am - 2 pm, (sorry!), but space rotate quickly. If you don't have luck in our upper lot, here are our tips:

OUR LOT - If you see a spot open in the upper lot in front of our location, you're welcome to park and come in for tea; our next door neighbors are very friendly.

10th STREET - There are 2-hour spaces along 10th Street across from the entrance of our complex.

THE FLATS PARKING GARAGE - 852 W Main about a half block from our location- This lot has "retail" spots available for short term parking; we cannot be held responsible for towing, but have had 100% success with customers and staff parking here for during the day.

DAIRY MARKET PARKING - 946 Grady Avenue, Charlottesville, VA. 200 spots are provided and the first hour is free. Payment can be completed through the ParkMobile app.

WEST STREET - this street is just south of Dairy Market and runs perpendicular to 10th street. There is street parking available here.

LEE STREET GARAGE - .4 miles from our location, the Lee Street garage across from UVA hospital

Congratulations, local grads! 👩‍🎓 💙🧡

In case you missed out on our whole cakes, we’ll be well stocked with last minute orange and blue treats thru Saturday including (GF!) brown butter Rice treats, spicy cheese coins, French macarons, PB softies, pavlovas, and Passionfruit tarts, plus all of our spring flavors by the slice of you’d like to customize the perfect cake sampler box.

BTW, we have one “V” cake painting by .art still available, too!

A love letter to our longboards. 💌
Our modern centerpiece cakes seem to get prettier each week as more spring flowers come into bloom. 😍

Measuring 3”x 12”, they equal eight of our regular slices, but can serve up 16 if slices are split in half.

While our Mother’s Day tea is sold out, we still have some very special experiences to celebrate and create with mom. 💗

🌸Saturday, May 9th, join our friend for a fun and relaxing evening of floral design. Each guest will create a peony-centric spring arrangement featuring an assortment of lush spring blooms, while enjoying delicious tea and sweet treats by yours truly.

👩‍🍳 this Sunday, May 3rd, our founder and head baker, Susan, is leading a cake decorating class featuring components of our Strawberry Belle Cake. In this in-depth workshop, students will build, frost and adorn their own 6” cake, while getting 1:1 instruction, buttercream demos and a take-home recipe to level up their home baking for years to come. Only a few spots left!

If you love making cakes from home, but want to level-up your skills, this is for you.

Join our Head Baker, Susan, next Sunday for an in-depth cake decorating workshop featuring components of our Strawberry Belle cake.
During class, each guest will enjoy step-by-step instruction on filling, crumb coating, frosting, with our swiss meringue buttercream, with tips and tricks to tempering and achieving perfect consistency every time. Take-home recipes include for each student!

After frosting cakes, guests will learn how to safely embellish their creations with an abundance of spring blooms and botanicals, while enjoying a tea and sweet treats.

Class size is limited to ensure everyone has ample 1:1 with Susan, so be sure to reserve now–or gift to the hobby bakers in your life.
