A little over a month ago (where in the hee haw has time gone ?!) we hosted round two of our annual Summer Market 🌻✨🌽🍉🌭❤️

Chime Studio captured the affair *so* beautifully on film. We've been absolutely basking in their golden glimmering warmth, making us wish summer weren't already at end.

These markets have become the tippy top highlights of our years. All us on team Coucou can hardly sleep for excitement the night before "all our best friends come to hang out." We can't wait for Holiday Market 2026 !!! 🥲🎁🎄

This little bakery was cake town for the summer and boy oh boy did we revel in it 🎂💕

We love celebrating with you and are always tickled when you choose us to be a part of your birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, and parties. Thank you for all your love, support, and shared joy.

Our cakes are available for pre-order on our website, link in bio. In order to provide the most special, intentional, creative cakes we ask for 7 days notice.

Most of the cakes pictured above are our "Chef's Choice" where you put your trust in our capable dessert lovin' hands and sign up for the best of surprises. Also pictured are our Almond Dacquoise, Citrus Meringue Tart, Fruit Galettes, and Chocolate Mousse cakes. All of which change slightly with the seasons.

Pain de méteil ❤️

A traditional French bread with 50% Deep Roots Milling rye flour. It's a light and clean flavored loaf with a sumptuous crust and rich, silky crumb. The rye brings a bit o' earthy, sour, sweetness that captures our hearts every time 🥲

Our boules land in the case at 9am Tuesday through Sunday 💛

📣💛 Hours of operation update !!! 💛📣

We've decided to peel back some hours on Thursdays and Saturdays, now 7am to 2pm and 7am to 4pm respectively (see slide 2 or our profile for full hours).

While I don't wanna be too wordy with this as I always prefer to invite conversation should you want to know more, I will say that as we head into the glorious season of Virginny in her finest 🍂 we've been taking a hard look at what this year has brought us so far.

As a bakery team we are constantly learning, constantly asking, constantly growing - but maybe not in the ways you'd expect. Our, and my, growth mission has always been more about heart and knowledge over "more." So, what this year has taught us is that more hours isn't always the right answer. This isn't something we arrived at lightly, but after much conversation and consideration I wholeheartedly believe this adjustment will support our heart in service (both in front and back of the counter) and soul in the best quality products.

We're so wildly grateful for you who support us and trust us, thank you for your understanding and love ❤️ see you bright and early tomorrow !

Come give a big ol' goodbye hug to summertime with us and our sweet neighbors Charlottesville Community Bikes ! We've invited an incredible group of farmers, artists, and craftspeople and the bakery will have bratwursts, hot dogs, and all sorts of definitely not French but super wonderful specials ❤️‍🔥

Market runs from 11am to 3pm, bakery is open at her usual 7am 🥐🌞

Produce makes CouCou's world go round, we love it so. This growing season has been a tough one for fruits and veggies - late frosts, drought, storms have all affected what we know as "norm." We've been feeling for our farmer friends as they navigate these challenges but remain immensely grateful for the products we've been able to get our hands on. These fruits and veggies are treasures, jewels that deserve respect and adoration. We can only imagine the coming seasons will be filled with more surprises as our earth changes, and we remain evermore committed to supporting agriculture in our locality. Take care of these systems and your farmers, friends ! They are deserving of all the respect and adoration just like the beauties they grow 💛💛💛

We're hosting a 5 course family style meal with beverage pairings by Patois all in celebration of Carrie + Dan's first season as Carrie and Dan 🍽️💛

We couldn't be more thrilled for these two (bakery regulars: you'll recognize Dan as our very own retail manager but his real job is growing stunning vegetables for your body and soul). This dinner is a grand beautiful excuse to host you on our patio, show off the stunning produce they're growing, and raise some funds so they can keep doing the great work they do.

Settling tenderly into Virginia's summer heat, we reminisce on a springtime full of friends and buckets and buckets of color. It was one of our busiest seasons to date but completely bolstered by your love and the magically talented hands of our baristas, bakers, farmers, and friends. paul 's ceramics are full of life and grace and holy moly I could not imagine a better gift for your sweet Mom or courageous woman in your life !!

's tailorings and market bags are pure joy in textiles - bringing new use to old material, or fresh air into well-loved articles - his work is equally unique as it is treasured.

We're over the moon to host both of these talented artists and it's one shop you don't want to miss !
