Okay, so now that I’ve shared our pregnancy announcement, I can share the story on these Elsa cupcakes. 😮‍💨

I made 3 dozen of these little cuties! 2 dozen in a nice sturdy tray and these dozen shown in a not so great Walmart box. When we pulled up next to my customer’s husband, the box with 1 dozen slid and tipped. And let me tell you, those early pregnancy hormones COMPLETELY took over. I lost it. A dozen cupcakes ruined and I couldn’t fix them. Buttercream all over the box. I did what I could and I told him not to pay me, all while absolutely blubbering like a baby. I was so beside myself and it was the most unprofessional thing I’ve ever done. He spoke with my husband, paid for the order and I just sat sobbing.

Later in the day, I messaged my customer and apologized for my behavior, explained my little backstory (not that it was an excuse, but man, we know how those hormones go and it definitely contributed 🤣). I was scared I wouldn’t even receive a response, probably deserved, and would lose a customer. But she came back so understanding and encouraging and completely turned my mood around about the whole situation.

I say it all the time, but I really am so grateful for the customer base that I’ve built and keep building. You’ve all made Dessert First what it is today. 💜
