My friend will be an empty nester sooner than planned! Her oldest son, Lewis, graduated from Chapman and will be attending Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) in the fall. Her youngest son, Luke, was accepted into the Governor's School for Math and Science for 11th grade!. What an accomplishment!! He will be living on campus to finish out the last 2 years of high school! She wanted special cookies to celebrate both of her amazing sons!!

Ann, it looks like we'll be getting margaritas in the fall!! 😁

A sweet friend reached out asking if I could make a strawberry shortcake-type cake for her daughter's birthday. She wanted a moist vanilla cake, strawberries and whipped cream frosting. Sounds easy enough, right?!

To be honest, this request caused me a bit if anxiety--cake layers sliding all over the place because fresh sliced strawberries produce juice and traditional whipped cream doesn't hold its shape without adding a stabilizer. How would I keep it feom falling over?

With a little ingenuity, I made the perfect cake!! Layers of moist vanilla cake, sliced strawberries mixed with stabilized whipped cream, and decorated with that same delicious whipped cream. This is what dreams, not nightmares, are made of!

I had the honor of baking for a sibling graduation party. And boy, did this family throw a PARTY!!

Lauren graduated from Clemson and Grayson graduated from Boiling Springs. Congratulations to them both!! Not only was I asked to decorate cookies, but 2 large cakes as well! Both bottom tiers were a chocolate fudge/vanilla marble. One top tier was chocolate fudge and the other was vanilla. My signature sweet Italian cream buttercream covered every square inch. These cakes were massive, easily weighing 25+ lbs each!
