The case was ready. We were pretending to be.

This candid photo was taken just before our ribbon cutting. The display was filled, the room was packed and we were trying to gather our thoughts before speaking to the city council members and community members who had shown up to celebrate with us.

It isn’t a perfectly posed photograph—and neither was the moment. We were excited, overwhelmed, probably sleep-deprived and still figuring out exactly what we had gotten ourselves into.

Nearly two years later, some things have changed tremendously. Other things—like the sleep deprivation and mild confusion—remain comfortably familiar.

We’re celebrating two years of Maison a little early this Saturday, October 17. Thank you to everyone who stood inside that crowded room with us at the beginning, and to everyone who has walked through our doors since.

Well. This is awkward. 🙃

You know how we’ve been telling everyone that Maison’s TWO YEAR anniversary is October 17th?

Funny story.

It’s November 15th.

NOVEMBER. FIFTEENTH. 🤦‍♀️

Apparently, somewhere between making pastries, running a business, and surviving on caffeine and a deeply concerning lack of sleep, we managed to forget when we actually opened our own doors.

We would like to assure everyone that we are significantly better at making food than we are at reading calendars.

BUT HERE’S THE THING.

We’ve already planned a party. You’ve already earned tickets. We’ve already gotten excited. And frankly, we’re not about to cancel a perfectly good excuse to celebrate just because we don’t know our own birthday.

So, October 17th is now officially MAISON’S VERY UNBIRTHDAY PARTY! 🥳🎂

The prize wheel is STILL spinning. Your Railroad Days tickets are STILL valid. The cream puffs and cannoli are STILL happening. And we’re STILL celebrating with all of you!

Because honestly? You’ve put up with our shenanigans for almost two years, and that alone deserves a party.

Our actual second anniversary is November 15th, which, now that we think about it, is dangerously close to Thanksgiving. So perhaps this was a brilliant strategic decision disguised as a complete lack of organizational skills.

We’re going with that. 😂

We’re back, Brunswick 💛

As of today (April 29), Maison is officially open on Wednesdays again 8 am to 3 pm! More days for pastries, coffee, and cozy hangs? We’ll take it.

With that said—small shift to keep things running smoothly behind the scenes:
🥪 Breakfast sandwiches are now weekend-only (Friday–Sunday)
⏰ And they’ll wrap up one hour before closing each day
(Example: Friday close at 3 → sandwiches end at 2 | Saturday close at 2 → sandwiches end at 1)

This helps us balance production with the extra day open—and honestly, you all already showed us weekends are the sandwich moment anyway.

A quick lil’ reminder: Mother’s Day preorder cutoff is coming up at the end of this week 🌸 Don’t wait till the last second… future you will be grateful.

Also, if we seem a little “heads down” lately—hi, yes, we are 😅 Between events, catering, and the shop, we’ve officially entered our “spring chaos but make it cute” era. It’s humbling, it’s busy, and we genuinely love being part of it all.
