This is the last cake of the weekend and it’s for one of my first and favorite clients. Alexis Cavey Peacock has been with me since the beginning and continues to support my small business! This weekend I made a cake to celebrate her nephew’s high school graduation. This young man is Navy bound and requested a chocolate cake with peanut butter filling. This cake was made for royalty … my beautiful granddaughter, Princess Luna! She celebrated her fifth birthday yesterday, surrounded by family and friends. The princess chose a strawberry cake, which was topped with Swiss meringue buttercream and edible princess images. Happy birthday, Princess! Grammy loves you sooo much!! 👑 🏰 💖

Last week, I celebrated another trip around the sun! Before celebrating with my family at “the most magical place on earth,” I celebrated with my coworkers in Lovettsville. Who makes the cake when you’re the Queen Bea? You make it YOURSELF!! I LOVE making food cakes and for a Disney theme celebration, I combined the two!

Yesterday was a great day, in spite of the rain! We celebrated a friend’s 65th birthday with this white almond cake covered in Swiss meringue buttercream. A beautiful cake for a beautiful person! Happy birthday, Susan Hawks Heskett!

Well there’s no fooling you, Lorraine Moten! My “specialty cupcakes” were indeed an April Fools Day joke! Those delicious looking cupcakes had pickles in the batter, relish in the middle, were covered with simple syrup made from sugar and pickle juice, and topped with dill pickle flavored icing! I had a short day at work but managed to fool a few people, including an armored car driver who was taking selfies in his truck with his cupcake! 😂🤪🫣

This year’s “treat” was a tribute to my sister who loved mint chocolate chip and relished (pun intended!) in my love of April Fools Day. Growing up she was often the victim of my pranks for days after April first! I would prank her and say, “One day after April Fools!!” “Two days after April Fools!!” …

I hope she was looking down and laughing at me and my shenanigans today! I can hear her now, “Oh snap!”
