November Program: The Story of A.D. Moyer Lumber & Hardware 🪵

Join us for our November Program as we take a look at the fascinating history of a local business that has been part of the community for generations!

Our presentation will be given by Alex Moyer, great-grandson of Amandus D. Moyer, the founder of what would become A.D. Moyer Lumber & Hardware, Inc.

So, who was Amandus D. Moyer?

In 1939, Amandus started his business in a rather unexpected way—by purchasing a roller coaster, taking it apart, and selling the lumber! From those humble beginnings, the business grew into the lumber and hardware store many locals know today in Gilbertsville.

And it all started at the same location as the current store, with Amandus selling materials from his garage. Needless to say, a lot has changed since then!

Come hear Alex share the story of his great-grandfather, the beginnings of A.D. Moyer, and how the business grew from a garage operation into a longtime local business.

Join us for an evening of local history, family stories, and the fascinating beginnings of a business many in our community know well!
