Our Story
My Grandma's of New England started baking our famous cakes in 1990 where it all started with our original Cinnamon Walnut Coffee Cake. These decadent cakes are handmade with only the freshest ingredients, including vanilla from Madagascar, actual peels and slices from Granny Smith Apples direct from Washington, and farm fresh eggs. The moistness and flavor of our cakes are unmatched and certified Kosher under Orthodox supervision. And there really was a grandma! In Newton, Massachusetts, My Grandma's of New England began baking coffee cakes in a modest 250 square foot bakery. The cakes were such a hit, that word of mouth quickly spread and My Grandma's of New England moved to their current location in Boston. Selling out was a daily occurrence and some people drove as far away as an hour just to buy one of Grandma’s cakes that were still warm from the oven.
Today our line includes the Cinnamon Walnut, Cinnamon, New England Blueberry, Ted Williams Chocolate, Banana Walnut, Cape Cod Cranberry, Chocolate Chip, Red, White and Blue Patriot Cake, Pumpkin Spice, Cappuccino, Golden Raspberry Granny Smith Apple, Pineapple Coconut, Lemon Poppy as well as Chocolate coconut ( available in small only) flavors. We also offer special-order “lower fat” cakes that have become a highly popular line for My Grandma’s. In addition, our cakes can be special-ordered without walnuts. Our cakes are packed in a plastic freezer bag that preserves freshness whether fresh or frozen. Shelf life in the bag is 14 days when refrigerated or on the counter and up to 12 months if frozen.
