What makes a recording studio the right recording studio?

It’s not just the room.

It’s not the gear.

It’s the people.

We love great gear. We love our room. We’re proud of the equipment we’ve collected over the years.

But none of that matters if an artist doesn’t feel comfortable enough to create.

Recording is personal. You’re putting your voice, your songs, and your ideas in front of other people. You need to feel like you can try something, make a mistake, change your mind, ask questions, and be yourself.

That’s why we spend so much time talking with our clients, getting to know them, collaborating, and making sure they feel comfortable in the room.

The facility and the gear should support the experience, not be the experience.

There are a lot of great studios out there with incredible rooms and vintage mic lockers.

The right studio is the one where you feel comfortable enough to make your best music.

That’s what we’re trying to build at GFM in Downtown Blue Springs. ❤️

We’ve been looking forward to this one.

On Thursday, September 24, Drew Six is coming to Live at GFM.

If you’re not familiar with Drew, he’s a Kansas City country-rock artist with a gritty voice, big songs, and a whole lot of experience on some pretty incredible stages. He’s performed at Madison Square Garden, the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, and most recently the FIFA World Cup 26 Fan Festival finale right here in Kansas City. His music has also been featured on CMT, with recognition from organizations including ASCAP, NSAI, and the Recording Academy.

But this isn’t a big arena show.

Live at GFM is about bringing an artist into an intimate room, getting close to the music, hearing the stories behind the songs, and experiencing the kind of moments you simply don’t get in a large venue.

Your night includes the live performance, an immersive headphone listening experience, complimentary drinks, meet and greet with Drew, and the opportunity to experience Drew’s music in a completely different setting.

We’re incredibly thankful for the opportunity to be part of this record. Seeing it now move into its next chapter with Gitcha Records is pretty special.

And we’re not done yet…

We can’t wait to welcome him back to GFM on Thursday, October 8 for the album release and a very special Live at GFM live album recording experience.

We’re proud of this record, proud of the work that went into it, and most of all, grateful for the friendship and the journey along the way.

We had a great time being part of this story and hosting the interview here at GFM. Huge shoutout to the Blue Springs City Theatre, Downtown Blue Springs, Cotarion Consulting Group, and KSHB 41 for helping bring it all together.

There are a lot of exciting things happening in Blue Springs right now, and we’re grateful to be a small part of it. 💯

Downtown Blue Springs is moving forward! 🚧

The construction is coming along great, and roads are about to start opening back up. In the meantime, our local businesses are still open, still easy to get to, and would love your support.
