The bakery will be closed next week while baker Jess goes to her sister’s wedding, and baker Jeff goes kayaking on some rambunctious rivers. We will not be at the market on October 18, and we will not be open at the bakery on October 17.

But we will be at the market as usual this Saturday, it's gonna be a gorgeous day, so come on down to the square and get the goods! Fighting fascism is hungry work...

We're looking for help at Cress Spring Bakery on Tuesdays and Fridays. The Tuesday shift is approximately 4 hours, primarily cleaning and milling flour, with a flexible starting time ideally between 8-11am. The Friday shift is 9am - 5pm, and involves assisting with pastry production, bagging bread, and a couple of deliveries at the end of the day. Baking experience is not required, but any commercial kitchen experience will be a plus. Must have the ability to work quickly with attention to detail. For the Tuesday shift, must be able to lift 50 lbs. Starting wage is $17/hour. We’re looking to fill these shifts ASAP.

We’ll be back at the Garver Feed Mill this Saturday for one last indoor market before heading back out to the square on April 12.

In other news, we're looking for help at Cress Spring Bakery on Tuesdays and Fridays. The Tuesday shift is approximately 4 hours, primarily cleaning and milling flour, with a flexible starting time ideally between 8-11am. The Friday shift is approximately 2-8pm, and involves bagging bread, packing up for the market, and cleanup at the end of the day. Baking experience is not required, just an ability to work quickly with attention to detail. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Starting wage is $17/hour. We’re looking to fill these shifts ASAP, ideally starting next week on April 8.

The Tuesday shift is approximately 4-5 hours, primarily cleaning and milling flour, with a flexible starting time ideally between 8-11am. The Wednesday shift is approximately 9am-5pm, and involves all aspects of granola and cookie production and packaging. Baking experience is not required, just an ability to work quickly with attention to detail. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Starting wage is $16/hour. Ideal starting date is April 10.

The Friday shift starts at 12:30pm and could go until either 5pm or 8pm. This shift is primarily bagging bread and and making a couple deliveries in Mt. Horeb, or staying longer and packing for the farmers market and cleaning up at the end of the day. Baking experience is not required, just an ability to work quickly with attention to detail. May lead to more work in the future. Starting wage is $16/hour and all the bread you can eat.
