This theme had me so excited! 😆 I've never had the chance to make a Curious George cookie set before, and this one was extra special.

These cookies were made for a baby shower, and the theme couldn't have been more perfect. The parents-to-be have the last name George, so naturally Baby George and Curious George were a match made in baby shower heaven! 🐵💛

From the little monkey faces to the custom onesies and edible image cookies announcing the soon-to-be big brother, every detail was so much fun to create.

I love when clients come to me with creative themes that have a personal connection. This one definitely brought a smile to my face while decorating! 😊

These custom tool-themed cookies were created to celebrate Keith's retirement after years of hard work and dedication at Ford!

And since it's Father's Day weekend, it feels especially fitting to celebrate the dads, grandpas, and father figures who have spent years teaching us how to fix things, build things, and work hard. The lessons they leave behind are often the most valuable tools of all. ❤️

🎓 Celebrating another amazing group of graduates this weekend! 🎓

It has been such an honor creating cookies and treats to help celebrate these incredible accomplishments!

⭐ Logan graduated from Washtenaw International High School and will be attending WCC this fall! He celebrated with both custom cookies and cake pops.

🦕 Megan graduated from Heartland High School and will be attending U of M with hopes of pursuing neuroscience. Since she's loved dinosaurs since she was little, we just had to include a few dinos in her set!

💕 Emily graduated from Milan High School and will be attending EMU. We went a non-traditional route for her cookies with beautiful shades of pink instead of school colors.

💃 Audrey graduated from Churchill High School and will be attending Wayne State University. She's been dancing her whole life and will continue dancing in college while pursuing a degree in physics!

⛳ Blake graduated from Belleville High School and is a huge golfer, so his set was filled with golf-inspired details.

🌼🪩 Lola also graduated from Belleville High School and chose a fun, non-traditional theme featuring bright colors, daisies, and disco balls.

💚 Reed graduated from Northville High School and will be attending MSU this fall!

Honored to create these cookies for the Westin Detroit Metropolitan Airport Hotel in recognition of Juneteenth ❤️💛💚

Juneteenth is celebrated each year on June 19. It commemorates the day in 1865 when enslaved people in Galveston, Texas were informed of their freedom, which was more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation had been signed. While freedom had legally been declared earlier, Juneteenth recognizes the reality that freedom was not experienced equally or immediately by everyone.

Today, Juneteenth serves as both a celebration and a time for reflection. It honors Black history, culture, resilience, and the continued importance of education, community, and remembering the stories that shaped our country.

Thank you to The Westin Detroit Airport for including custom cookies as part of this meaningful celebration. I’m always grateful to help create small details that become part of important moments and conversations ❤️💛💚

Well... it's Thursday morning and I'm officially running a bakery by extension cord. 🤣⚡

The kitchen is still without power from last night's storm, but there is still plenty of work to be done!

One of the things I love most about working in a shared kitchen is that we're all in this together. The owner of Jennies Original Pierogies was here in the middle of the night setting up a generator and making sure our refrigerators and freezers stayed powered. Talk about a small business superhero! 🦸‍♂️

He even managed to get the oven up and running for me, which means I can at least get these cookies baked and ready for decorating. The cakes? Well... we'll cross that bridge later. 🤣

If there's one thing owning a small business has taught me, it's how to roll with the punches. Unexpected challenges happen, equipment breaks, storms knock out power, and plans change. But the work still needs to get done, and somehow you find a way to make it happen.

So today you'll find me working in the dark, following extension cords across the floor, fueled by determination and energy drinks. ☠️🤣 Had to break out the big guns today!

Because these orders aren't going to decorate themselves, and I'm not about to let a little power outage stop me.

Now if everyone could keep their fingers crossed that the power is back before I have to start working on cakes, I'd greatly appreciate it! 🤞🍪🎂⚡😆

Soooo I guess that means I'm done working for the day! 😅

Not exactly how I planned to spend my Wednesday night, especially with orders still on the tables, but decorating cookies in the dark seems like a questionable life choice. 🫠

Please cross your fingers that the power is back by morning so I can hit the ground running tomorrow! 🤞🤞🤞

For now, the mixers are silent, the lights are out, and Mother Nature has officially clocked me out for the night. ⚡️🍪

At this point, you know it isn't a University of Michigan Credit Union (UMCU) grand opening without my cookies being part of the celebration! 🎉

Yesterday, 200 cookies went out the door to help celebrate the opening of their newest branch near Eastern Michigan University. And because this location is an EMUCU branch, we had a little fun with the design. 😆 We took their classic logo and gave it an EMU-inspired makeover with green and white colors to make it feel right at home on campus!

Getting to be a small part of these milestone moments for local businesses is something I never take for granted. I can't thank the team at UMCU enough for continuing to support small businesses like mine and trusting me to help celebrate their big day.

🎡✨ I'd like to buy a vowel... and apparently a whole cookie set in less than 48 hours. ✨🎡

Let's talk about last minute orders for a second.

Normally, decorated cookies and "last minute" don't belong in the same sentence. These little guys require planning, baking, decorating, drying time, and sometimes even designing and 3D printing brand new cookie cutters. Cookies are usually a 2–3 day process, not a "Hey, can you have these ready tomorrow?" kind of process. 😅

I got a message around 4 PM on Friday for a party happening Sunday afternoon.

The reason for the short timeline was that their original baker unfortunately had to cancel. I know things happen, and I can only imagine how stressful it must have been trying to find someone to help at the last minute. Thankfully, she was referred my way, and after looking at my schedule, I realized I might actually be able to make it work.

I had already finished my cookie orders for the week and was wrapping up cake orders. Saturday mornings are pickup-only at the kitchen, which meant I was going to be sitting there anyway.

So Friday night became a race against the clock. I designed cookie cutters, got the 3D printer started, and finished up my cake orders so everything would be ready to go first thing Saturday morning.

Saturday morning rolled around and while waiting for pickups, I started baking and decorating. Honestly, it was either make cookies or work on bookkeeping, and we all know bookkeeping wasn't winning that battle. 😂

By early Saturday afternoon, these were finished and drying. Sunday I came back to package everything up and send them off to the birthday party.

So are last minute orders possible?

🎡 SPIN THE WHEEL!

The answer is... sometimes!

But it really depends on my schedule, what equipment is already running, and whether the cookie stars happen to align. 🤣

This theme definitely worked in my favor. I've never done a Wheel of Fortune set before and I always love a new theme! 😆
