The Baxter Spring Market was such a great day of community connection, radiant sunshine, Mr. Rob’s tunes, familiar faces reunited, and great local shopping but this moment was my all time favorite. My sweet firstie friend showed up with a wad of cash that I later discovered was her tooth fairy money. She carefully selected and paid for a focaccia and then ripped it open and bit into it with a toothless grin. I’m still smiling about it!

As we welcome May, it brings an exceptionally busy schedule behind the scenes! In addition to managing the Farmstand, we are preparing for wedding season by creating wedding cakes for our couples.
We appreciate your understanding as we adjust our hours of operation to accommodate the demands of both businesses.

Simply Sour is honored to bring all things sourdough to Baxter and hopes to continue baking for Wild Roots Farmstand through the summer We may need to scale back to accommodate a busy summer baking schedule. We are gearing up to be a full-time vendor at the Ankeny Uptown Farmer's Market this summer. You can find us in the West Pavilion from 8-noon on Saturday mornings!

Well Hello Dolly! It’s good to see you Dolly! Over Spring Break we traveled to the Smoky Mountains and discovered the cutest little farmstand: The Last Act. We picked up a starter named Dolly. Initially, she was not a fan of our cold Iowa Spring but she has sprung to life now and has been busy producing some beautiful sourdough!
