I started BakerRee as a creativity outlet and means of extra income in the Fall of 2013. My husband was working away and I needed a project to help fill empty time. It grew far beyond what I thought it would and eventually led to purchasing the Dayli
ght Donuts in Atoka, OK and merging the two businesses into BakerRee and Daylight Donuts, LLC. In a fun and exciting twist of events, just two weeks after signing on this business deal we discovered our 3 year battle to start a family had come to an end. We ran the two businesses as best we could, just my husband and I with help from friends and family for 2 years but ultimately made the decision to sell so that I could stay home with our little boy. The plan was to go back to a smaller scale version of BakerRee back in my home and I was in the middle of this transition when my mother suddenly passed away in February of 2017. Sometimes in life when you have a talent and passion if you are lucky enough you develop fans and supporters. My Mom was my biggest fan when it came to cake decorating. When I lost her, I lost my passion for my gift. I truly thought I would never pick it up again...
Then on a random day in November 2017, I found an old voicemail from my Mom that was her telling my how big of a hit some of my cupcakes had been at her work. Hearing her praise and feeling the pride in her voice was exactly what I needed to bring back some of that fire I once had for making people happy through custom desserts. I now only do custom cookies and I am first and foremost a stay-at-home mom and homeschool mom. So please be patient with me when it comes to messaging and scheduling.
