We’ve been getting a few questions about why we’re raising on Mainvest instead of GoFundMe, and we wanted to provide you with some context. is an investment platform that allows members of our community to invest in us and see potential returns tied to our revenue once we reopen. So instead of being donation-based like GoFundMe (which is a great platform, just not for us!) we decided that we wanted to reward our biggest supporters, believers, and those that invested in us with a revenue sharing note. This is a way for us to say thanks for believing in us, and share in our growth!

Another day another Black History Fact!
Today we will discuss Abby Fisher!
Fisher was born into slavery in South Carolina in 1832. She learned to cook in plantation kitchens in the South, where she developed her distinctive style. After the Civil War, she moved to San Francisco and opened a preserves business. Those close to her encouraged her to publish a cookbook; because she could not read or write, she ended up carefully describing her recipes to writers who assembled them for her. “What Mrs. Fisher Knows About Old Southern Cooking” was published in 1881 and included 160 recipes, corn fritters and okra gumbo among them. Fisher exact date of death is still unknown but her influence and legacy still carries on today.
Happy Black History Month!
We re running behind but all month will be paying homage to various influential African Americans in both dessert and alcohol industry.
James Hemings, born in 1765, was one of the twelve children of the black slave Elizabeth (Betty) Hemings and English-born planter and slave owner John Wayles. When Wayles’s white daughter, Martha, married future United States President Thomas Jefferson on January 1, 1772, the latter acquired James and his wife’s half-siblings, as well as 133 other slaves.
For nineteen months Hemings trained under caterer and restaurateur Monsieur Combeaux, then studied with pastry chefs and practiced cooking in the home of the Prince de Condé. Eventually he became head chef at Jefferson’s Paris townhouse, the Hôtel de Langeac. Jefferson’s decision to train Hemings as a world-class chef stemmed from a love of French cuisine and the need to entertain befitting an American minister with a tight budget that did not allow him to employ an experienced native French chef.
How I plan to watch the after fighting all the tr*mpies on FB
Being a single mother and raising a carefree Black child has a lot of rewards because I get to watch him grow with a sense of confidence that I suppressed within myself at his age. But it also has its challenges because this boy be all in my business all the time. 🙃🥴
Can any other can relate ?
I was working full time back on the strip when I wrote this status. I always been a fan of colors but the jobs I worked wouldn't allow it. So I use to stay in some crooked ass wig cause I didn't know how to do my natural hair and it probably would ve been deemed "unprofessional" anyway😭😭😭😭
These days even tho I still have a part time job ,the crooked wig are no more and I m way more daring when it comes to my hair. It's currently bright 🟠! I think expanding my business has given me the confidence and freedom to be myself fully cause you couldn't convinced years ago to leave the house 🤣🤣🤣
Ya ll move quick not even 12 hours later we are FULLY FUNDED!
THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!
Happy New Year! We made it! (bearly) out of 2020.
Full Transparency I don't think I was going to make. Covid-19 kept giving me hit after hit. Like many business owners I been trying to figure things out.
I planned on reopening ordering last month but due to some unexpected expenses I m having to delay. I been approved for .org crowdfunding. .org is online platform that helps underrepresented business geyThis loan will be a HUGE help in helping me open the shop back opening and create a better customer experience. This is considered a loan so all money contributed will be repaid. to donate and further understand how this process works!
Again thanks again for and all support!
We got some big things coming!
We ll be closed the two weeks to enjoy the holidays and change something around !
This week live will be featuring my girl Ashley from !

Me realizing Christmas is right around the corner and the year is gone and I have no clue where it went 🥴🥴
As a new this has been a very interesting year to say the least. Homeschool. Pandemic. Launching a new business all in the same year has really taken a toll on me. I never wanna seem as if I have it it all together cause I DONT. I m still figuring it out just like everyone else.
As the owner of I am the baker/publicist/accountant/ delivery driver at the same time. Its alot but I love what I do and I m so grateful for all the support. I still am learning how to take care of my self and to balance it all out. I usually make myself a good cocktail or three 😬 to deal but I am looking for other ways to balance things out. All suggestions are welcome! Let me know in the comments what ways you all are taking care of yourself during these crazy times.
Have a lil hot chocolate to go along with your this holiday season.
