🏆 This chocolate sheet cake earned a Kansas State Blue Ribbon in 1940 and was even served at the Governor’s Mansion in Topeka. Decades later, we’re honored to share this family favorite with you.

Rich chocolate cake, old-fashioned homemade icing, and a recipe that has stood the test of time for more than 85 years.

❤️ I don’t usually share messages like this… but this one made my day on Sunday. With so many choices of sourdough options at the markets this message means the world to me.

When someone tells me their family finished an entire loaf in less than a day and immediately wants another one, that’s about the highest compliment a baker can receive.

🍋🫐 Sometimes the baker saves a loaf for her own family.

This week’s sourdough loaf was filled with fresh blueberries and bright lemon zest—a simple combination that tastes like summer. The aroma while it baked was incredible, the bottom was a little messy and I couldn’t resist setting one aside for my family to enjoy.

A crisp crust, soft sourdough crumb, juicy blueberries, and a hint of citrus make this one a favorite around our table. 💙 you can see the lemon zest!
