Happy Saturday, Bakewell friends!

Today is the Downtown Anderson End of Summer Sidewalk Sale, and if you’re out browsing the wonderful local shops, we hope you’ll make your way to our little walk-up window for a morning treat.

We’ll be serving from 8 AM–12 PM with a few new things joining the menu today:

Everything Danish
Flaky, buttery pastry filled with savory cheese, finished with everything bagel seasoning and a drizzle of hot honey.

Triple Chocolate Fudgy Brownie (GF)
Three chocolates. Deeply fudgy. Nothing more needs to be said.

Rosemary & Garlic Focaccia (slice)
Golden and fragrant with rosemary, garlic, and plenty of olive oil.

Come stroll, shop, linger a little, and take something delicious along with you.

We were thrilled to be alongside the City of Anderson this morning celebrating 110 North Kitchen & Commissary during WSPA Channel 7’s Zip Trip!

It was a perfect morning spent with neighbors, good conversation, a little hometown pride, and, of course, something sweet from the bakery window.

We’re grateful to be part of this charming community and to celebrate all the wonderful things happening right here in Anderson.

A little back-to-school nostalgia, with a Bakewell twist.

We’ll be at the walk-up window this Saturday, 8 AM–12 PM at 115 Federal St, Anderson with some old-school favorites made a little more special:
🥐 PB & J Croissant — twice-baked butter croissant filled with peanut frangipane + raspberry jam
🍕 Bakery Pizza — housemade focaccia topped with savory red sauce + Pecorino Romano
🍪 Oreo Cookie — two dark chocolate cookies with a layer of vanilla cream

And it’s the last Saturday for our Peach Danish and Peach Tart (GF). 🍑 The season has officially wrapped up at Callaham Orchard, so come get them while you can!

This Saturday, we’re bringing back one more back-to-school treat.

A little lunchbox nostalgia, made right here in the bakeshop — housemade Oreo cookies with rich dark chocolate cookies sandwiched around sweet vanilla frosting.

But the real question is how do you like to eat your Oreo…dunk it in milk or twist it apart?

Following along with our back-to-school theme, we’re taking a little trip down memory lane—back to those beloved rectangular pizza slices from Friday school lunches.

Inspired by the bakery pizza slices Jennifer grew up with in Rhode Island, we’re giving the nostalgia a little bakery upgrade. Our bubbly focaccia is topped with housemade tomato sauce and Pecorino Romano—a slightly more elevated take on that classic rectangular slice.

Meant to be enjoyed at room temperature, it is simple, savory, and the perfect bakery bite.

Move-in days are here for our local colleges and universities, and with the return of the school season, we’ve been thinking about the flavors that take us right back—simple, familiar favorites from our school days, given a little Bakewell twist.

This Saturday, we’ll have a few of those favorites waiting at the walk-up window, including our PB&J Croissant—our buttery croissant filled with peanut frangipane and raspberry jam, then baked again until golden and crisp.

A little nostalgic, a little special, and made for a Saturday morning.

Our fall menu won’t officially arrive until mid-September, but we’ve been busy behind the scenes testing and perfecting some new recipes.

As a little sneak peek, we’re offering our Pumpkin Scone today! Full of fall flavor with pumpkin, cinnamon chips, and crystallized ginger—it’s the perfect Saturday treat.

Last night, I had the opportunity to speak with Anderson University’s Residence Life Leadership Team about one of my favorite ingredients in any community: belonging.

My talk was titled “The Recipe for Belonging: What a Small Bakery Can Teach Us About Creating a Place Where People Feel at Home.”

This welcoming, energetic team reminded me that creating a sense of home starts with the little things—making room, extending kindness, and letting people know they belong at the table.

With Move-In Day just around the corner, I know Anderson University students will be in very good hands. What a joy to share a little bakery wisdom with such an inspiring group!

Here’s to creating places where everyone feels a little more at home.

The first week of school is in the books, and we're hoping everyone is settling into those early morning routines.

If you're looking for a simple, homemade breakfast to make busy mornings a little easier, we've got just the thing waiting at the bakery.

Our Blueberry Muffins are baked with fresh blueberries and bright lemon zest for a little taste of late summer. And our Cinnamon Swirl Coffee Cake is a longtime favorite—buttery, layered with a generous cinnamon swirl, and finished with a golden, crumbly streusel topping.

Here's our favorite tip: stock up while you're here. Both freeze beautifully. Just pull one from the freezer before bed, and by morning you'll have a wholesome, homemade breakfast ready to enjoy on the way out the door.

As the backpacks come out and the school bells ring, we're here to help make mealtimes just a little easier.

Our sandwich loaves are perfect for packing wholesome lunches:
🥖 Sourdough – made with a blend of white and whole wheat flours for a flavorful everyday loaf.
🌾 Multigrain – filled with sunflower seeds, flaxseed, oats, and rye chops for hearty, satisfying sandwiches.
