Big congratulations to WECA Member RML Machinery...

We are incredibly proud to announce that we were awarded both the Supreme and Innovation Awards at the 2025 Waikato Chamber of Commerce Business Awards event on Friday 21 November!

This recognition is a testament to our fantastic team of innovators who think big and design world-class products! We are particularly proud that the Innovation Award highlights our development of Automated Guided Vehicles. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Fonterra for entrusting us with the opportunity to develop these innovative vehicles, which have brought us to this position.

We also want to express our gratitude to the Waikato Chamber of Commerce for hosting such a remarkable event. A huge thank you to Foster Group Limited for sponsoring the Supreme Award, to Company-X for sponsoring the Innovation Award, and to all the wonderful people who helped make the event successful.

Looking ahead, we are excited to be growing even more in 2026! Together, we will continue to push boundaries and innovate.

From weekend welding to full-time fabricator! Excellent to see JP Marshall Engineering apprentice Shay featured by the FutureForce crew – proof that a hands-on hobby can spark a seriously cool career in engineering!

WECA launched the Waikato Engineering Education Fund in to drive long-term solutions to the skills shortage in our sector—backed by a focus on innovation, diversity, and equity. https://momentumwaikato.nz/engineering-education-fund-targets-skills-shortage-6qycvz

With the national shortfall projected to reach 40,000 workers by 2028, this regional response is already gaining strong support. Shout-out to the Momentum Waikato Community Foundation for helping make the Fund possible.

Creating a long-term solution to the skills shortage in the engineering industry is the aim of the Waikato Engineering Education Fund.
