Freshly baked, buttery, fluffy with the perfect amount of crunch - these are the best croissants in Auckland in our opinion.

For our locals, he needs no introduction.. This is our manager David.

Born in France a long, long time ago (his words, not ours), David took a slightly roundabout route to becoming our manager here at Copain. He actually started his career in banking before deciding spreadsheets weren’t quite for him, retraining in hospitality in Cannes and eventually making the move to New Zealand.

After 15 years immersed in Auckland’s nightlife, David decided it was time to experience a different kind of early morning, so naturally, he joined a bakery.

These days, he brings years of hospitality experience to Copain, along with a growing appreciation for the craft behind traditional French baking. And there’s one thing in particular he takes very seriously: the baguette 🥖

What started as a full-time hobby has become something of an obsession… turns out waking up before the birds is just another part of the French savoir-faire.

We’re very lucky to have him keeping the Copain crew (and baguettes) in line - thank you for all you do! ❤️
