⚡Hato Hone St John is on a mission to empower as many people as possible with lifesaving skills as part of its CPR awareness month.⚡

During Shocktober Hato Hone St John will be teaching as many kiwis as possible the 3 Steps for Life to empower them with the knowledge and confidence to act quickly in an emergency.

They are simple to learn - Step one: Call 111; Step two: Start CPR; Step three: Use an Automated External Defribrillator (AED).

Cardiac arrest is still one of Aotearoa’s biggest killers. Survival chances dramatically improve the sooner CPR begins. If you can get along to one of their free 3 Steps for Life programmes or a First Aid Training courses training this month, you might be able to help save a life!

Please don't leave booking your cake until the last minute!

I know life gets busy, dates creep up on us, and sometimes birthdays and celebrations seem to come out of nowhere 😂 But I'm often booked out weeks in advance, and sometimes even months ahead!

As much as I would LOVE to say yes to everyone, there's only one me, and every cake takes time, planning, baking, decorating and a whole lot of love. ❤️

I will always do my best to squeeze in those last-minute requests when I can, but unfortunately, I'm not always able to accommodate bookings in the week of your event — and especially not just a few days beforehand.

✨ My advice? Book as soon as you have your date! ✨

Even if your celebration is months away, getting your cake booked in early means one less thing to worry about as the big day approaches.

And if you've got a special birthday, wedding, anniversary or celebration coming up, don't wait until the countdown is on! 😉

Thank you so much for keeping me busy and supporting my little cake business. Every order means the world to me, and I hate having to turn anyone away! 🥹💕

When we heard there was a boy celebrating his birthday yesterday, Hazel decided she wanted to help make it extra special.

And this little cake? She decorated it ALL BY HERSELF. At just 5 years old! 🥰

I might be biased, but I think we might have a little cake decorator in the making! 👩‍🍳💗

Mums… we can see the finish line. 😂

ONLY THREE DAYS OF THE SCHOOL HOLIDAYS LEFT.

We’ve made it. We’re tired. We’ve run out of ideas. Someone has eaten the last snack we were saving for ourselves. And frankly, the lunchbox is starting to feel like a personal attack. 😅

My customer sent me a photo of her home — the house she has lived in for 30 years — and asked me to create something really personal for the 30th anniversary of living there - which may or may not have also been her 65th birthday.

With a little computer magic, I transformed her photo into an illustrated-style image, which we then printed onto an edible image sheet and turned into the centrepiece of her cake. Add some ivory buttercream, gold details and a thirty topper, and we had a cake that was not only pretty, but full of memories. ❤️

I absolutely love when a cake can tell a story — and this one certainly does!
