Happy 50th birthday to my niece Carlene who celebrated today with this lovely little 8" lemon drizzle sponge cake, filled with lemon curd and buttercream, covered in white chocolate ganache and finished in sugar paste. Decorations include silk flowers and a big pink hand crafted sugar bow.

My oldest granddaughter celebrated her 18th birthday this week. Here is the cake I made her for her party last night. Vanilla sponge layers filled with white chocolate and raspberry buttercream, crumbcoated in white choc ganache, finished with a buttercream top coat.

Happy 60th birthday to Alison, who is celebrating this weekend with a pink version of the blossom and bows cake I posted last week.
Chocolate sponge layered with vanilla buttercream and covered in white chocolate ganache and more buttercream. Decorated with faux cherry blossoms, hand tied ribbon bows and rose gold butterflies.

When your cake doesn't survive the long journey to a Scottish island intact, and you have to repair with minimal equipment and ingredients 😳
p.s. this is from 18 months ago, at my daughter's wedding. The bride and groom didn't know anything was amiss until after the wedding - all was well in the end and still tasted bloody lovely, even if I say so myself 🙂

A pretty baby shower cake that went out this weekend. Layers of chocolate sponge cake filled and covered with vanilla buttercream ( with a white choc ganache crumb coat). Decorated with faux hydrangea blossoms and hand tied ribbon bows. It photographed as a peach colour but was actually on the caramel spectrum. Inspiration photo provided by my client.

I don't normally do cupcakes, as don't have my oven on enough to make it economically sound, however I recently made some Gabby's Doll House ones for a regular customer, who's family was going on holiday and transporting a cake would be difficult. I then had a request from another family member for a Coco melon themed Bento cake and cupcakes, so the oven ended up being nicely full after all 😊

A very Happy 18th Birthday to my great niece Katelyn, who is celebrating with a Harry Potter themed cake. Layers of vanilla sponge filled with vanilla buttercream, covered in white chocolate ganache and lilac sugarpaste. Finished off with hand made sugar models and edible images.

Forgot to post these lovely, bright cupcakes made for my Sister-in-Law Jean's 75th Birthday last week. Vanilla sponge with raspberry jam topped with both vanilla and white choc ganache buttercreams and sugarpaste toppers.

Had a lovely visit from my grandson Albie this weekend, who recently celebrated his 12th birthday. He chose a Demon slayer cake, with chocolate sponge and banana flavour buttercream. This was crumb coated in chocolate ganache and finished in red and black sugar paste, lightly dusted in gold, with edible images.
