Hello 👋 and welcome to Violet Boo Bakery 💜

I'm Kat, your local cake maker from Crofton Wakefield UK 🇬🇧

I've been in the cake world 🌎 for 14 years now!

I started with a cake decorating course for beginners when on maternity leave with our eldest daughter Betsy ❣️.
Progressed onto making iced cakes and cupcakes for all occasions.
In 2017 I opened my first cafe - Betsy's cake and coffee house in Crofton! It was an amazing little hub, which bought many people from all over Yorkshire 🍀💜

I sold up July 2022 and had our little girl Violet, and came back to been a homebaker ♥️

Started doing markets, which I loved - but wanted more, as you do!

I thought I'd try the shop life again and opened a cake shop in Ossett February 2025. Although successful, the long hours I couldn't commit to - aswell as the ever rising costs of ingredients and utility bills, sadly this was short lived - lesson learned 🌟

We purchased a Bedford 1975 former ice cream van back in 2023 and planned on doing her up to attend events - but the reality of purchasing a 50 year old van came to head when we saw how much needing doing to her, aswell as having a 14 month old baby - we put the reno on hold ♥️

Fast forward to 2026, I'm a homebaker - Rosie belle (cake van) has taken a priority, and with the generosity of our supporters, money was raised to help do her up!
We've attended many events with our cake and bake bedford van - and she's been greatly welcomed!

Also doing pop ups on our driveway! These have turned out well ❣️

Featured in the Wakefield express which has been a lifelong dream ✨️ (I know really sad)

I try and do weekly treat boxes, but sadly these have declined - I hope to have more custom so I can start doing them again on a weekly basis 💜

Lots of other things have happened in between this timeline, but I just want to say a massive THANK YOU for sticking around and the support!
