Running a small cake business involves so much more than just buying ingredients and baking a cake.

Many people see the final price but don’t always realise everything that goes into it. Each cake takes hours of planning, baking, decorating and cleaning afterwards. Some nights I stay up very late to make sure every detail is perfect for my customers.

On top of ingredients, small businesses also have many other costs such as packaging, equipment, insurance, electricity and gas. When all the hours are added up, many cake makers are actually earning less than minimum wage for the time we put in.

Like everyone else, we are simply trying to earn a living and support our families while doing something we love. Every cake I make is bespoke and created with care, time and attention to detail.

Please be kind and respectful when discussing prices. Custom cakes are not cheap because a lot of work, time and skill go into every single one.

I truly appreciate every person who supports small businesses and understands the effort and love that goes into handmade products. Your support means everything 🤍
