A very large and super delicious lemon cake for Dorothy’s 80th birthday, plus a few cookies.
Another time consuming project that took a few days.
The cake is very lemony and moist with a delicious buttercream and lemon curd filling.
As always, everything is hand crafted. The flowers are hand piped out of buttercream.
The highland cow cookies are vanilla. And I decorated the box again. All looked beautiful.

Sometimes not only does the cake needs to be gorgeous but it also needs to be presented beautifully as it’s going to be a gift.
So here we go: it’s beautiful inside and out.

I not only made a cake for everyone to share at the Ceilidh Celebration but I also made cookies for Fr Max and Fr James.

All hand crafted, designed, and decorated especially for this beautiful occasion.
They are vanilla cookies with vanilla royal icing, I hand painted them to mark 10 years of ministry in the Scottish Highlands of both Fathers. Congratulations once again 😘
I nearly forgot to give the cookies to them 😜

48 eggs, 2.4 kg flour, 2.4 kg sugar, 3.4 kg butter, 2.5 kg icing sugar, , 3 tubs of mascarpone cheese, , 2 jars of strawberry conserve, a bottle of vanilla extract, 1 pack of fondant , 2 bouquets of flowers, a huge cake board, a huge cake box, 7.5 hours of constant baking, and 2 days of love and labour of making & decorating later …
and here it is …
A gigantic (14.6 kg!!!) and delicious vanilla cake to celebrate 10 years of ministry of Fr Max and Fr James in the Highlands. To share for many, many, many people at the Ceilidh Celebrations (very Scottish and beautiful!)
The cake matches the gorgeous cookies that I made but I will add that post on another occasion.
Happy anniversary and a huge congratulations once again 🥰

Merry Christmas everyone ❤️🎄
I only made 4 Christmas cakes this year, one for us and 3 for our friends. I decorated 2 of them with Christmas versions of the cutest Highland cows, not an obvious way to do this but I just felt inspired by the place we live in now and I really love them.

As you may have noticed , it’s very quiet here.
After we moved to Scotland, I didn’t try to carry on with my baking business. I bake very occasionally now and only for family and friends. Somehow I lost my spark, probably because of not being well for quite a while. I don’t think I would have been able to continue with the stressful journey. But sometimes I miss it a lot so I was thrilled when my dear friend from England, Caroline, asked me to make a box of cookies for her new grandson, Ray, some time ago.
I made wedding cakes for both of Caroline’s sons (Edward and Robert) 3 years ago. I also made some beautiful cookies to celebrate the arrival of Edward and Bex’s baby daughter, Florence. So this time it was an honour to make some cookies for Robert and Cara’s new, gorgeous baby boy.
I tried my best to capture all the clues given by Caroline and I’ve had great feedback from her. I know that everyone loved my creations.

Happy sweet 16th birthday, Rozalia ❤️
Because we are going to move out in 2.5 weeks ( yeah, AGAIN, I know…), there was no time to bake anything extraordinary even though you deserve only THE BEST!!!
Very simple gingerbread cupcakes to mark such a special occasion is a joke but at least the weather is super beautiful and you have had a lovely day, doing all the things you wanted.
We love you very very much and we couldn’t be any more proud of you!

Sometimes you can’t do more for your dear friend than a cake…
Berry delicious ( you see, what I did just now?) , end of the Summer version of my favourite Black Forest Gateau.
Packed ( and I really mean it!) with fresh raspberries, strawberries, blueberries and freshly whipped cream. It’s very chocolatey but still light as a cloud.

How are you all?
I still can’t work after my accident so I’m not the happiest person in the world. But we are so fortunate as our dear friends are in Scotland and we see them very often. The boys climb the mountains and we just chat and chat and chat 🥰 Special times!
And the cherry on the cake: it’s nearly Ola’s birthday so today we celebrate that with a cake.
It’s sooooo moist and so delicious, filled with banana and nuts and the cream…… yummmmm😋
