Introducing the treat boxes from Rachel’s Kitchen!
Fancy something from the cake shed but live too far away or are you looking for a gift to send someone?
Well, I have the answer for you with these tasty treat boxes! Each item comes individually wrapped to ensure it reaches you as fresh as when it’s posted and you can pick from anything between one to nine items. Delivery is via Royal Mail and normally within 48hours.
Items can be selected from the following:
Millionaires shortbread
Cornflake tart
Raspberry Bakewell slice
Fruit cake mini loaf
Salted chocolate brownie
Apricot and white chocolate flapjack
Date, walnut and orange cake

Morning everyone!
A new batch of lemon shortbread bars making their way to the cake shed today. I’ve been tweaking the recipe a little to make the base crisper and the lemon filling smoother and thicker and they have passed this mornings taste test, even with Peter who isn’t a lemon lover!
You’ll still find them in them chilling out in the fridge along with the pecan slice, brownies and millionaires shortbread.
Other new bakes in the shed are apricot and white chocolate flapjack which is gluten free and brings an interesting twist what we think of flapjack!
Open every day from 9.30am to dusk and packed with tasty treats

Some of you have already found this date, walnut and orange cake that was inspired by my recent trip to Turkey. It’s set to become a favourite in our house and hopefully yours as well!

The sun may not be out for the bank holiday but the cakes definitely are with blueberry muffins, cornflake tart and chocolate fudge cake all added to the cake shed this morning.
The shed will stay open till dusk today to give you plenty of time to pop in to pick up your favourite.
Hope you all have a great bank holiday. I’m now heading into the garden to tackle some very out of control weeds!

Happy Friday everyone, in fact happy bank holiday weekend Friday!
These pecan slices are new in the cake shed today ready for the weekend. They were taste tested yesterday and I can confirm that they passed with flying colours!
Hope you’ve got something lovely planed for this sunny Friday afternoon. As for me, I’m going to finish my cuppa then head back into the kitchen to slice the orange cake before going back to work to cook some pizzas!

It’s a sunny Sunday and I’m making the most of my day off with a trip to the garden center for some geraniums inspired by my week in Turkey.
If you’re out and about and fancy something sweet then the cake shed is open till 6.30pm. With the weather warming up you’ll now the find the brownies and millionaires shortbread chilling out in the fridge.
There are also bunches of spring flowers on the flower stall next to the cake shed.

I’m back from my break, the kitchen is looking lovely with its fresh coat of paint and I’ve been busy baking!
This weeks cake is chocolate Guinness cake, and they’re mighty size slices! There’s also orange cake, brownies, millionaires shortbread, cornflake tart and Bakewell slices to name a few of the favourites.

Happy Monday cake and flower lovers!

To-day is the last day to pick up something from the cake shed for a week as it’ll be closed while I have a little break and the kitchen gets re-decorated. So, to give you plenty of time to pick up your favourite sweet treat the shed will be open till 7.30pm this evening.

Who doesn’t love a bunch of lovely spring flowers! These bunches of mixed narcissus and tulips are available next to the cake shed and I’ve got some small jam jar posies to add to them as well.

For those of you looking for something sweet then to-days cake special is double chocolate muffins with chocolate fudge icing. And if chocolate isn’t your thing then there are some mini fruit cake loaves, plus all the regular favourites.

The shed is open till 6.30pm so if you fancy some flowers or a piece of cake you know where to come.

As for me, I’ve got a day off from the kitchen so you’ll find me catching up on some rather neglected gardening jobs!

These mini fruit cake loaves are new in the shed this week and go perfectly with a cuppa in the sunshine at any time of the day.
The shed contains something for everyone with a gluten free bake now as well. Open every day 9.30 to 6.30 there’s plenty of time to pop along and pick up your favourite!
