🔨👷Custom cake for a Joiner 👷🔨

We constructed this cake out of our delicious chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream filling, tools are made of fondont and so is the faux wooden flooring only thing you can eat is the board the cake sits on 😂

Fun fact: the wood grain effect is done by marbling four shade is brown together which give an edible wood grain fondont

We get some unique requests for birthday cakes and this was no exception!!!

Customer brief: it’s my dads 80th birthday and we want a cake that celebrates the things he loves, his dog Meggie, sailing boats/the sea, Isle of Lewis especially a reference to Callanish because that’s where he’s from, he speaks Gaelic, he’s a proud Maclean so we would love some tartan on there and could you put the initials of his children on the cake but in a subtle way. I know this is a lot so you decide what will look good as we will be happy if some of these things are on the cake, can’t wait to see it 😁

Well folks we managed to tick every item on the request list and made it make sense (phew 😅)

Fun fact the landscape/seascape details are hand painted on the cake to create depth

Fun fact: the tartan is Mòd tartan printed on fondont paper, making it edible fabric
Also when we incorporate fresh flowers in our designs we use a cake pick which holds the flowers without contaminating the cake cool bit of kit eh 😁👌

Ok maybe it’s not that cool but we think it is 😂
