I absolutely loved making these personalised cupcakes for a special mum. Sometimes, buy cake for people just because! I worked with my client to understand what his mum liked, and then brought that to life with fondant modelling, buttercream swirls and delicious cupcakes 🩷

This order was even more special for two reasons:
1. I got to deliver them to the recipient directly, she had no idea they were arriving and it was so special to see the smile on her face.
2. A very good friend chose to support my business! When you have friends that show up for you like that, you really have won in life 😍

A beautiful 30th birthday cake I had the pleasure of making this week. I was given artistic freedom, with the brief being peach and cream colours and biscoff flavours...

So I created this three tier cake; salted caramel sponge, biscoff buttercream and biscoff spread between the layers. Adorned with cake spheres, dried florals, touches of gold, a 30th topper and candles 🥰

Simple ingredients. Slow process. Incredible flavour 🍞

Our classic white sourdough is made using just three simple ingredients: flour, water and salt (plus our lovingly maintained sourdough starter, of course) and takes 48 hours to make.

Every loaf is naturally leavened and slowly cold-fermented, allowing time to develop its signature flavour, chewy texture and beautifully crisp crust.

There are no commercial yeasts, no nasties and no shortcuts - just time, patience and traditional baking.

That long fermentation doesn't just create incredible flavour. Many people also find naturally fermented sourdough easier to digest than conventional bread, thanks to the way the fermentation process breaks down some of the compounds found in flour.

Freshly baked in small batches here in Kent, because great bread is always worth waiting for.

We have been working hard behind the scenes recently to increase awareness of our business.

A big thank you to Beesfield Hen Sanctuary, Kentish Garden Pub and Rafferty's of Eynsford for taking some of our sourdough pancake mixes and sourdough peanut butter dog treats to give out across the community to help spread word about our business and a little joy.

Whether your picking up eggs from the sanctuary egg box, enjoying a drink in the sun or popping in to the local village shop for some necessities, you can find our little gifts across these locations 🥰

THIS is COMMUNITY 💚

Our signature Lavender & Lemon Loaf is made with fragrant lavender grown right here at Castle Farm, paired with freshly zested lemons for the perfect balance of floral and citrus.

Finished with a tangy lemon glaze and suitable for vegans, it's the ideal companion for a sunny afternoon, a picnic, or a cup of tea after wandering the lavender fields!

You'll find it available in the Castle Farm shop throughout the lavender season. If you're visiting, don't leave without a slice of summer 💜

Some designs are just too pretty not to make again 🎂

When a customer came to us saying they'd fallen in love with one of our previous celebration cakes, we were more than happy to recreate it for a very special 60th birthday.

This elegant 6-inch, two-layer cake is made with soft vanilla sponge, filled with sweet strawberry jam and silky vanilla buttercream, then finished with gold leaf, shimmering gold sprinkles and a bespoke fondant topper for that extra personal touch.

Every custom cake we make is designed around your celebration, whether you're inspired by one of our previous creations or have a completely new idea in mind.

8 reasons you should order from Verdant Whisk! Running a bakery is more than just baking some bread, or decorating a cake. There is so much work that goes on behind the scenes to ensure every order is made to the highest standard ⭐️

So many hours have gone in to ensuring we have all of the legal stuff covered to the highest possible standard, registering the business, getting our 5-Star food hygiene rating, paying for insurance.

Community is at our heart, and we are working on some fantastic community projects behind the scenes. You will hear more about those as we finalise plans 👀

Being a female owned means we are building this business brick by brick whilst working around motherhood, caring responsibilities, a full time job. At times it is hard, sometimes we are baking and packaging products until 1am... but we believe we can be really successful.

And we care about inclusivity. We are really proud to offer a large selection of vegan bakes, and have plans to work on gluten free in the future. If you have any allergies, we will work with you to accommodate, or recommend another local business who can!
