Sunday Assembly Edinburgh The Sunday Assembly in Edinburgh is a secular congregation that meets to hear great talks, sing songs and generally celebrate the wonder of life.

Sunday Assembly Edinburgh is part of the international Sunday Assembly movement of wonder and good. We are a 'secular congregation' which means it's a bit like church but no God or religion. We have assemblies generally on the first Sunday of the month, at LifeCare Edinburgh in Stockbridge. We tend to have around 30-70 people attending, and the assemblies last an hour. They typically include some congregational singing of well-known uplifting pop songs accompanied by the house band, some gorgeous poetry, a stimulating talk, cake, and a chance to chat with others. We are free to attend, and family and dog friendly - there is a kids table for colouring, Lego etc and a dog bowl along with coffee and tea. At yesterday's assembly, we heard news from Rayya Ghul about events at the Palestine Museum Scotland.

Juthur Roots, the exhibition of digital art prints by Palestinian-Canadian artist, Fedaa Boqaileh, is still on display in the Museum until October 30th so please do come and see these powerful images.

Gauze 2 : Christine Dawson
We are delighted to announce that Gauze 2 will be opening at the Palestine Museum Scotland on Tuesday 13th October and will run until the 25th October.

The exhibition by artist, Christine Dawson, features a series of installations memorialising 55 members of the Abuzour family killed by an Israeli strike on their home on 4th December 2023. Previous visitors to the Museum may remember Christine's first exhibit, Gauze, which featured 55 flowers made from gauze - a fine muslim which was originally made in Gaza and exported round the world giving us the word, 'gauze'.

As part of Gauze 2 we are hosting an event on 18th October 4-6pm. Entitled, 'The Remembrance of Futures Lost', the event brings together Dr Saeed Abuzour, a family member, with Palestinian academics, Juman Simaan and Luna Abbas and Lancaster activist, Khaled Jayousi, to discuss the issues raised by the exhibition, particularly scholasticide.

Palestinian Cinema Day : November 2nd, 7.30-9pm
Palestine Museum Scotland is excited to be part of Palestine Cinema Days AROUND THE WORLD 2026. November 2nd 2026 will be the 109th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration. Across the world, multiple venues will be screening films from the festival's curated selection on this day. We have chosen to show two films:

The Flowers Stand Silently, Witnessing, dir. Theo Panagopoulos. 17 mins.
When a filmmaker of Palestinian descent based in Scotland unearths a rarely-seen Scottish film archive of Palestinian wildflowers, he decides to reclaim the footage.

Foragers, dir. Jummana Manna. 65 mins.
Foragers interweaves documentary and fiction to report on a searing conflict between the Israel Nature and Parks Authority and Palestinian foragers.
