This is the last little clip from when we visited Generals Meadow Care Home in Walmer and it’s one that’s stayed with me. 🫶🏼
We took cake, but we left with stories from a generation who lived through things we’ll never experience first‑hand.
War planes overhead. Digging bunkers. Young love. Mischief. Hidden sherry.
A whole lifetime held in someone’s voice.

This project is something I started because I wanted to talk to the people who make this town what it is.
To use our platform to shine a light on the stories, memories, humour and history that live right here in Deal.
There is so much wisdom sitting quietly in our community all it takes is time, curiosity and a conversation.

Me and Chris have always believed hospitality is about people, but this project is my way of going deeper.
Of connecting.
Of listening.
Of giving something back.

I’m so grateful we got to share this moment.
And I hope when I reach that age, I’ve lived a life full of memories worth passing on too.
This is what it’s all about ✨
