Some wedding cakes tell a story, and this is still one of my favourites!
This one began with two people, a shared love of adventure, and a collection of wonderfully geeky treasures. Hidden among the details are nods to beloved books, video games, Wales, and even a little touch of Tangled magic.
The part that makes me smile most? The tiny sugar characters. Each one was hand modelled from specialist sugar paste and carefully placed to help tell their story, a sweet little romance unfolding across every tier.
I adore creating cakes like this (and luckily I get to make lots). The kind where guests spot one detail, then another, then another... and suddenly realise the whole cake is a love letter to the couple standing beside it.
A wedding cake doesn’t have to be just a cake. Sometimes it can be a storybook too.
