✨ Every bespoke cake begins with an idea, an inspiration picture and a conversation... and this incredible Game of Thrones inspired creation was no exception.
From the very beginning, the theme was set and discussions centred around one iconic feature – The Iron Throne. While I decided against recreating the throne in fondant, I still wanted Sam to have something special to remember the occasion long after the last crumb had disappeared. So, I downloaded the file and 3D printed an Iron Throne phone stand as a keepsake gift – a little piece of Westeros to treasure! 👑🐉
This majestic cake features three layers of deliciously moist vanilla sponge, filled with rich chocolate buttercream, coated in silky dark chocolate ganache and then covered in fondant.
To achieve that aged, rustic finish, I carefully dusted the cake with cocoa powder and food-safe colour dusts, adding depth and texture throughout.
As I was putting the finishing touches on the cake, I knew it needed one final detail – the legendary Weirwood Tree. Using an etching tool, I created the design directly into the fondant before enhancing it with hand-crafted fondant branches, roots and leaves. It became the perfect finishing touch and brought the whole design together beautifully.

When you order a custom cake from **Ally Bee Creative Designs**, you're not just buying a cake...

Many of my cakes take **8 hours or more** to complete, and some detailed celebration cakes can take even longer over several days.

As a registered home baker, I take pride in maintaining high standards. Every cake is made with care, using quality ingredients, following food hygiene regulations, and baked from scratch because I believe your celebration deserves nothing less.

I do love an opportunity to test out new cake recipes at family celebrations! 😊

This adorable “Cute as Buttons” baby shower cake was a 6-inch vanilla sponge cake… and yes, it was definitely vanilla! 😄

In a moment of baking inspiration (or perhaps forgetfulness!), I realised I’d used dark brown sugar instead of light brown sugar. The result was a delicious surprise – a beautifully moist sponge with a lovely warm, caramel-like flavour that everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

I also experimented with a new buttercream recipe, and I have to say, I was really impressed. It was velvety smooth, piped beautifully, and held up remarkably well despite the crazy heat! ☀️ There were quite a few trips back and forth to the fridge to cool everything down before I could continue decorating.

The finish wasn’t perfect, but considering the weather, I was delighted with how this “Cute as Buttons” cake turned out for a very special little baby due to arrive in July 2026. 💚💛🩵🩷
