Steam Train News! 🤩

Tomorrow, Axminster station will be graced by something truly incredible. At around 12.21pm tomorrow (Saturday 23rd), the 'Atlantic Coast Express' steam railtour hauled by SR Merchant Navy no.35028 'Clan Line' is scheduled to blast through Axminster at full pelt on its journey from London Waterloo to Exeter St Davids! 😁

No better locomotive than 'Clan Line' could have been chosen for the job. Being a Southern engine, the route through Axminster is the very one she used to call home back in the Sixties, making it all the more special for her to return to it once again! 🙂

At time of writing, we don't believe we currently have a photo of 'Clan Line' to show here, so this model of her owned by our volunteer Matthew will have to suffice. If you plan to turn out to see her race by, we hope she puts on a good show for you! And since she only comes by at 12.21, why not drop into the Depot for a look around first? We'll be open from 10am, with all our usual rail-related wonders for you to enjoy. 😄🚂

Edit: my apologies regarding saying we don't have any pictures of 'Clan Line'. It seems that we do, as courtesy of some other members of the group, some very lovely ones have started appearing in the comments section! 😍
