What a night at Le Food Market 🇬🇧

A few shots from last Thursday evening — our first time bringing Project Sausage to Le Food Market®.

Scotch eggs, sausage rolls, pork pies, pasties and plenty more Proper British Food made its way out of the kitchen and onto the market.

A massive thank you to the team at Le Food Market for having us, and especially to everyone who stopped by, tried the food, came back for more, had a chat or simply came over to say hello. You made it a very special evening for us.

We had a great time doing it. Hopefully not our last. 🇬🇧

Roast butternut squash, fresh goat’s cheese, tarragon and nutmeg.

Properly roasted squash, plenty of goat’s cheese and fresh tarragon. Simple, seasonal and exactly the sort of thing we want on the menu heading into September.

A week of very serious research in Antibes.

Me and the kids have walked what feels like every street looking for sausage rolls.

We found none.

We did, however, find plenty of cold beer and rosé, so I did the responsible thing and continued the research.

Can’t win them all.

Holiday nearly over now. Back tomorrow, straight into the kitchen to start baking and testing a few new recipes before we reopen on Monday.

Turns out if you want a decent sausage roll, you have to make the bloody thing yourself.
