We’re all set up at a NEW market! 🐝

Today is our first Wednesday at Alderney Landing Farmers’ Market in Dartmouth, and we’ll be here from 12–6 PM!

If you’re in Dartmouth or Halifax and haven’t tried Honey Blue yet, everything we bake is made with fresh milled whole grain flour, along with ingredients like real butter and local unpasteurized honey.

Our last Pictou Farmers Market of the season is officially behind us, and we just wanted to say thank you. 💙

We really enjoyed being part of the Pictou market this year. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported us throughout the season, especially those of you who became regulars at our table. It has been really nice getting to know you and seeing familiar faces each Wednesday.

Thank you as well to the volunteers who put the work in every week to make the market happen, and to all of the musicians who played throughout the season. We’re very glad we decided to join the market this year and we’re looking forward to coming back next season.

And just because the market is finished doesn’t mean you have to wait until next year to order from us!

Today is our last Pictou Farmers Market of the season! ❤️

The market is serving a free meal today with soup, rolls and cookies, and our fresh milled dinner rolls will be served with it. I thought that was a pretty nice way to end our season in Pictou.

We really didn’t know what to expect when we started coming to Pictou this summer, but you guys have kept us busy! There have been weeks where we’ve barely had time to get set up before something started selling out, and lots of you have come back week after week for your favourites. That kind of support has meant a lot to us, especially as a new little bakery trying to get our name out there.

So thank you, Pictou. ❤️ We’re really glad we decided to spend our Wednesday evenings with you this summer.

We’ll be there one last time today from 4–7 PM with a table full of fresh milled baking. Come see us!

Today’s market prep starts with roasting pecans 🤎

We’re getting ready for our last Pictou Farmers Market of the season tomorrow, and these are headed into our Maple Pecan Scones.

I buy our pecans raw and roast them myself so I can control exactly what goes into them. No unnecessary oils or added ingredients, just pecans roasted until they’re fragrant and full of flavour.

It’s one of those little extra steps that takes more time, but it matters to me. I want the ingredients going into our baking to be as simple and wholesome as possible.

And tomorrow, these will be folded into fresh milled Maple Pecan Scones. 🤎

You guys nearly cleaned us out today! 😅💛

We came home from Trenton with only a few sweets left, and the scones were gone about halfway through the market!

We actually brought extra scones today because we had the new Spiced Pumpkin Chocolate Chip flavour, but apparently we still didn’t bring enough 😂 We had people coming by looking for scones after they had already sold out.

So just a reminder that you can always preorder for market pickup! If there’s a certain bread, scone or sweet you don’t want to miss out on, you can send us a message and pay by e transfer, or place your order right through our website.

ONLY TWO PICTOU MARKETS LEFT! 🫐

We’ve been busy in the kitchen this morning getting everything ready for today’s Pictou Farmers’ Market, and somehow we’re already down to our second last Pictou market of the season!

We have a NEW scone flavour making its Pictou debut today: Spiced Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Scones! Made with real pumpkin, warm fall spices and chocolate chips, then finished with a sweet cinnamon glaze.

We also have freshly picked wild blueberries again today. 🫐 Wild blueberry season is quickly coming to an end, and as the season winds down, we don’t know how much longer we’ll be able to continue picking. If you’ve been wanting another pint of fresh wild blueberries before the season is over, now is the time!
