It's just another morning at Melrick's.

Pero may napansin lang kami.

Kapag maaga ang dating ng mga suki namin, parang hindi naman sila nagmamadali.

Mapapatingin muna sa mga tray ng bagong lutong tinapay, sisilip sa likod habang tuloy-tuloy ang paghahalo ng dough, tapos hihintayin 'yung bagong batch ng pandesal na kakalabas lang ng oven.

Maya-maya, makikita mo na lang silang nakaupo na may hawak na kape at mainit na pandesal.

May ilan pang nagsasabi, "Ang bango... parang nasa Pinas lang ulit."

At sa totoo lang, gusto naming isipin na baka hindi lang tinapay ang naaalala nila.

Baka pati 'yung mga simpleng umaga noonโ€”'yung may inuutusang bumili ng pandesal, may nagtitimulang kape sa kusina, at sabay-sabay na nag-aalmusal ang pamilya.
