Say hi to Seren! 👋 She's a big fan of movies, painting, and crafts — and her ideal way to recharge is an outdoor nap (summer only, she insists ☀️). She'll take her coffee or tea either way, just with a bit of milk and honey. 🍯 🏝️ She's got anything by Michael Jackson on repeat, and when she's here, she's likely headed straight for the scones.

Say hello to Renn! 👋 She went to school for Performing Arts and Music, and can sing and play guitar, piano, and ukulele — so don't be surprised if she breaks into song behind the counter. 🎵 When she's not at the bakery, you'll find her knitting, crocheting, sewing, or deep in a video game. She unwinds with sunshine and yoga, and her go-to order is a soy latte or oolong tea. Her current song on repeat is "Fear of Missing Out" by Ben Platt, and her dream life would involve writing music and travelling the world. If you want to win her over, order the raspberry pie. 🥧

Say hello to Grace! 👋 Her idea of a good time is playing in the bush — burning brush, digging streams, building bridges and paths. 🌳 She unwinds by working in her greenhouse, and right now her hobby is making rag rugs (it changes yearly, she admits). Her coffee order is a French vanilla, “I Am Tired” by Phil Wickham is on repeat, and the most interesting place she’s been is Newfoundland. 🧭 If she weren’t here, she’d be running an off-grid homestead — and honestly, we believe it. Her bakery order is key lime pie… or really, any pie at all. 🥧

Maria, the calm, steady hands behind the magic in our kitchen! No matter how busy things get, Maria brings a grounded, cool-as-a-cucumber energy that keeps everything (and everyone) running smoothly.
Maria moved to Canada from Italy in 1981 and became a Canadian citizen in 2000! When she's not in our kitchen, you'll find her sipping on both coffee and tea — whether it's a double decaf, a black tea with two sugars, or an espresso with two sugars for a little extra fuel.
Maria isn't much of a podcast listener — she'd rather have music on and enjoys all different kinds. And when it comes to travel, her favourite spot so far is La Casa de Al Capone in Varadero, Cuba, where she says the view from the back deck is absolutely breathtaking.
In her downtime, Maria loves getting lost in needlepoint and paint by numbers. And if baking wasn't in the cards? She jokes she'd love to be a hostess on a cruise ship or a tour guide on a tropical island — clearly she's got the hospitality gene!
As for her favourite treat at the bakery, Maria can't resist our key lime pie, confetti squares, and butterscotch pecan scones — a tough trio to choose between!

Meet Joanne! 👋
If you've ever shopped at Loretta's, chances are you've met her! She's our incredible Front of House Lead and one of the friendly faces that keeps everything running smoothly. Whether she's greeting customers with a smile, making the perfect coffee, helping you choose your favourite treats, or keeping the front of the bakery organized during our busiest days, she does it all with care and enthusiasm. Her positive attitude, hard work, and genuine love for our customers make her such an important part of the Loretta's family.
Joanne loves hitting the trails on her side-by-side, and when the day is done, you’ll find her on the front porch with a good cup of coffee — black, with the occasional tea. ☕ Her secret obsession is flower gardening (one can never have too many flowers, she says 🌼), and her favourite place in the world is Costa Rica, especially for the wildlife — particularly the monkeys. 🐒 She’s got “Dock Rock” by the Washboard Union on repeat, and if she could do anything else, she’d be retired and travelling the world. At the bakery, she’s torn between savoury and sweet — lasagna or pecan butter tarts. 🧁

Introducing Makayla!
Makayla is also working on her 5th year with us and she is our incredible decorator!👋 She won a provincial Skills Ontario competition in the film category — so yes, she's kind of a big deal. 🏆🎬 She loves sewing, crocheting, and cross stitching, and she unwinds by discovering new movies on Netflix or YouTube. Her favourite podcast is Smosh Reads Reddit Stories, her coffee is always a latte or two cream, and her dream career would be directing in the film industry. She's been to South Africa and Portugal, and here at the bakery, her picks are the chocolate chip muffins and carrot cake.

A little bittersweet news ❤️

Our lovely Makayla is heading back to school in September! We’re so sad to see her go, but we couldn’t be more excited for her as she starts this next chapter. We’re so grateful for all the hard work, creativity, and care she has brought to Loretta’s. We’ll definitely miss having her around!

With Makayla heading back to school, we’re currently looking to hire a part-time decorator to join our team.

👩‍🍳 Meet Hannah!

Hannah has been with us for 5 years, and we honestly can't imagine our kitchen without her. She runs it like a true pro — organized, passionate, and always bringing her best. Whether it's the morning rush or a big order day, Hannah keeps everything flowing with skill and grace.

Hannah is very talented at painting, crocheting, and baking. She recharges with summer swims, hot showers, and cozy pajamas year-round. Her drink of choice is a soda, lemonade, or smoothie, and if she weren't here, she'd probably be painting for a living. 🎨 Her bakery order changes by season — chocolate peppermint truffles at Christmas, pumpkin scones in the fall, and Hello Dolly squares any time at all. 🍫
