FALL Programs Update:

Thank you for the terrific response to our program options!

We have received a few messages regarding the EYPL (Edmonton Youth Premier League) so here is some additional information and a link in the comments.

The EYPL gives select Swan City teams (U13-U15) the opportunity to train, learn and compete in Edmonton over the Fall. 4 Sessions in Edmonton will be led by Edmonton College coaches followed by gameplay. Swan City players will learn and compete as a team. The League culminates with a Championship Weekend (instruction and games will be held at EYBA and Legacy Athletics).

The league will wrap up prior to school basketball getting underway.

We are very excited about this opportunity to learn and compete in Edmonton while developing the talent in the Peace Region!

Arctic Academy - Grande Prairie 2026

Camp Overview:

This Academy is for U13 Boys, U13 Girls, U15 Boys, U15 Girls, High School Boys and High School Girls.

Cost: $200.00 per participant plus AB Basketball Membership

When: Sundays

Where: Maude Clifford School

Times:
U13 - U15 (1245pm-245pm)
U16 - U18 (245pm - 445pm)

*Players can play Club Basketball and participate in the Arctic Academy with some overlap*

2026 FALL CLUB Basketball (Expression of Interest)

We plan on offering up to 6 club teams this FALL (U13 Boys, U13 Girls, U15 Boys, U15 Girls, HSB and HSG)

In the event an age group does not have enough participants but a different age group has more, we may adjust which teams we offer. We cant exceed 6 teams though.

U13 Boys, U13 Girls, U15 Boys and U15 Girls will participate in the Edmonton Youth Premier League in addition to 2 CLUB Tournaments. (September to End of November)

High School Boys and High School Girls will attend 2-3 CLUB Tournaments and will wrap up prior to the start of the school basketball season (2nd week of November)

Back for FALL 2026 are our development programs for all ages while also expanding our FALL Club Basketball Opportunities for select age groups which will include participating in Edmonton's Youth Premier League (EYPL) this Fall and a return of the Canada Basketball Academy, renamed the Arctic Academy - Grande Prairie for interested participants which is in partnership with Alberta Basketball.

FALL Program Signup and Information will go live on Monday!

We are excited to offer Volleyball programming and a Fall Rec League (select age groups), a return of our CB Academy in Basketball which will have an Arctic Games eligible focus for interested athletes, FALL Club Basketball (travel teams w practices) and our Local Fall Programming with league.

Options will be on Saturday and/or Sunday plus Tuesday night options.

Costs will start at $150.00 per participant. Travel Teams and the CB/Arctic Academy will have higher costs due to some travel (and more time on the courts).

The next Arctic Winter Games has been announced for 2028 and they will be held in Alaska. A great opportunity for Alberta North Basketball Players! (Grande Prairie, Peace River, Fort McMurray, High Level, LaCrete, etc)!

SUMMER Camps Week 2 Wrap-Up:

Yesterday concluded our 2nd week of Volleyball and Basketball Camps and we were thrilled to host just under 50 campers.

We have also been excited about the lineup of coaches we have had for these Camps.
We even had a guest coach spend the week with us, Deng Ngor!

A big thank you to Coach G and Coach Juane for leading each camp and to our Summer Camp Sponsor Pomeroy Lodging!

Up Next: We still dont have a gym space for our August camp so a decision will be made by the end of next week on whether we can run it or not.

Week 1: Swan City Volleyball and Basketball Camps

Today was the final day of our 1st week of Volleyball and Basketball Camps which meant it was donut day courtesy of Pomeroy Lodging! It was great to see just over 65 athletes between the two camps!

Week 2 is set to begin on Monday July 27th at Maude Clifford School.

We can still accommodate late registrations for both volleyball and basketball. Our google signup is in the comment section.

SUMMER Camp Change of Venue****

For July 20th to 24th both the Volleyball and Basketball Camps will be held at the Composite High School due to waxing of the school gym at Maude Clifford.

Volleyball 9am to 12pm

Basketball 1230pm to 330pm

Week 2 (July 27th to July 31st) will be back at Maude Clifford School Gym.
