Well, this just happened! 🔪🍫

Wicked Whisk had a little brush with horror royalty at Horror Con! The incredible Caroline Williams, best known as Stretch from Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, stopped by our booth, picked up some treats, and even filmed a little promo video for us!

And yes, she's enjoying one of our Turtle Brownies in the video. We may or may not still be fangirling over here! 🖤

Proof that even horror legends need a little something sweet between screams!

Today is a day I carry a little differently.

I am the first generation in my family not to attend residential school.

My parents, grandparents, and generations before them were directly impacted by the residential school system. So for me, this isn’t distant history. It is part of my family’s story.

I carry that with gratitude, grief, and responsibility.

I think about the children who were taken from their families, the families who were left behind, and the Survivors who carried those experiences home with them.

I cannot change what happened. But I can remember. I can listen. I can learn. And I can help ensure the truth is never forgotten.

Today, Wicked Whisk sets aside our usual humour to honour the children who never came home, the Survivors, and their families and communities.

Our limited-time Apple Turkey Sandwich is basically autumn between two slices of focaccia. 🍂

Tender turkey, crisp apple slices, creamy Brie, peppery arugula and our housemade cranberry mayo, all piled onto our rosemary focaccia.

Sweet. Savoury. Creamy. A little tangy. And very, very good.

🍂✨ Autumn has officially entered the chat… and she brought cake. ✨🍂

There’s just something about an autumn palette that makes a custom cake feel extra magical. Warm florals, golden sunflowers, pops of burgundy and burnt orange, a little sparkle, and plenty of deliciousness underneath it all. 🌻🍁

🚨🦇 WICKED WHISK WILDLIFE COURIER SERVICE IS NOW OPEN 🦇🚨

We came to work today expecting to bake things.

Instead, we apparently started a wildlife transportation service.

Meet Frank. 🖤

Frank the bat made an unexpected appearance at Wicked Whisk today and, after a brief staff meeting (mostly consisting of “Uhhh… what do we do with the bat?!”), we decided this little guy needed to get to Calgary Wildlife Rehabilitation.

So naturally…

We put him in a chicken sandwich box. 😂

Yes. Really.

Our schedule today looked a little something like:

🥐 Bake pastries
🍪 Make cookies
🥪 Pack Nanaimo bar order
🦇 Transport one tiny bat
🍰 Return to baking like absolutely nothing unusual happened

Frank got the VIP treatment, complete with his very own cardboard transport suite. No sandwiches were harmed, and Frank was safely delivered into the care of the wonderful folks at Calgary Wildlife Rehabilitation. 🥹🖤

We don't know if Frank was impressed with the service, but we're pretty sure this makes Wicked Whisk the only bakery in Calgary offering baked goods AND bat transportation.

Please don't ask about our rates. We haven't figured out the pricing model yet. 😂

10/10 unexpected delivery.
Would absolutely help another tiny creature in need.
Probably should not put “wildlife courier” on the business cards. 🦇📦
