When I first started making Kek Lapis back in August 2022, there werenβt many people selling them at the time. Infact, none that I knew of. It honestly started as something I simply enjoyed doing and I never imagined it would grow into what it is today. Looking back now, I feel so blessed to have been able to share a little piece of Sarawak with so many people here in Perth. Iβm truly thankful to God for the customers who encouraged me, supported me, and believed in what I do from the very beginning π
What started with the original Kek Lapis slowly grew into many different flavours and creations over the years getting inspiration from other bakers in Mβsia. As a proud Sarawakian, Kek Lapis has always been close to my heart π We grew up with them! Hahahaβ¦ Back then, Kek Lapis was considered quite a luxury and was usually enjoyed only during festive seasons.
I recently read about a Kek Lapis in Kuching being sold for MYR1,800 π³ That really shows the level of craftsmanship, detail, time, and premium ingredients that can go into these beautiful cakes.
Here in Perth, Iβm also very grateful that many of my customers understand the value behind each Kek Lapis β the hours of layering, baking, and attention to detail, not to mention that the ingredients are definitely not cheap too π
And if youβre wondering whether Iβm still selling Kek Lapisβ¦ the answer is YES π Please check out my menu on my Stories and Highlights.
Thank you again for all the love and support throughout the years π«Ά
