Where the Hanngry Italian came from ⬇️
Even though I get slightly embarrassed every time I say this name out loud to a supplier 😂 lol I can’t bring myself to change it because it has so much more meaning to it for me 🫶
The Hanngry Italian has been something I have been thinking about for a loooong time. I have always wanted to create a space around food but also tie in my work as a dietitian but not in a way people may expect (no I am not the food police) but rather the complete opposite.
Our relationship with food is so important and can deeply impact how we experience life. We walk in a world where diets are everywhere and we are constantly told to shrink ourselves to fit in. But as a consequence we can be worried or fearful of food.
This is something I experienced and support folks in unlearning but also a way to share this through the bread 🫶
My background is also Italian (my dad’s side) and while this history and culture got a little lost in the generations, that tie to food for me is deep. Food is more than fuel, it connects us, brings us together and creates memories ❤️
Bringing these together in the bread shed is so important to me and celebrating all foods in a way that nourishes our souls ❤️
A space to explore, be curious and RELAXED around all types of foods.
This is my WHY ❤️🔥
