We are thrilled to be sponsoring Brandon and Malcolm as they race through the Australian bush in their...very bad car. It will be a blast to watch them on their journey. Hopefully, they won't need more than zip ties and duct tape to hold their car up along the way. 🫣

If you're interested in the Sh*tbox Rally, please head over to their website: https://www.sh*tboxrally.com.au/. There are heaps of great teams to sponsor and donations go to support the Cancer Council Australia. 🌼

Wooooohooooooo!

A very, very, very big thank you to our first corporate sponsor.

Weepa Products have made a very generous donation in support of a very good cause. We are so appreciative for their support.

And yes.... for all you internet sleuths out there, Brandon works at Weepa Products. Not only are they supporting us in the rally, but they're also giving him the time off to do it.

Weepa Products is awesome! Check them out at www.weepa.com.au

As we move closer to spring and the start of another bushfire season, it's encouraging to see Australian technology companies developing innovative ways to support early fire detection. πŸ”₯

One example is 'exci', which uses artificial intelligence to analyse camera feeds and satellite imagery, helping identify potential bushfires in their early stages and enabling faster response times. πŸš’

With the FPAA Conference coming up in October, it's a timely reminder of the important role Australian innovation plays in strengthening bushfire resilience and fire protection.

🏠 Prefab housing might not be as futuristic as many people think.

After looking at examples from Sweden and Europe, it was interesting to discover that Australian builders are already testing the concept closer to home.

Metricon recently completed a pilot project where two prefabricated homes were manufactured and assembled in just 20 days.

The goal wasn't simply speedβ€”it was exploring how factory-built construction could help improve efficiency and increase housing supply.

As labour shortages, affordability and housing availability continue to dominate the conversation, it will be interesting to see whether more builders explore this approach.

Could factory-built housing become a bigger part of Australia's housing future?

πŸ€” What do you think?

Australia's largest home builder, Metricon, has completed its first prefabricated housing pilot, showcasing how offsite manufacturing could help improve construction speed and support efforts to increase housing supply while also ensuring the quality, design and customer experience expected from a m...

The idea of factory-built housing sounds compelling on paper: greater precision, less waste, faster construction and potentially lower costs.

So why hasn't prefab become the dominant way we build?

This video explores both the promise and the challenges of prefab architecture, from economics and logistics to consumer perceptions and market adoption.

Great architecture isn't defined by the moment it's completed, but by the experience it continues to create. ✨
At Town Square, South Brisbane, every early decision was made with the future in mind - shaping a destination that brings people together, inspires curiosity and enhances everyday life.

For generations, homes have been built largely the same wayβ€”on-site, one project at a time.

But what if housing could be manufactured more like cars, with precision-built components produced in a factory before being assembled on site?

A recent announcement that Wesfarmers and Built are planning a prefab apartment manufacturing facility in WA has sparked plenty of discussion about where construction is headed.

This video looks at how Sweden has embraced housing factories and what that could mean for affordability and supply:
